Fall 2016 Wake Tech Applicants

Published

Hey Everyone,

I'm not new to this site, just new to actually joining and posting my own story since I myself am finally able to began the application process of applying to Wake Tech next Fall. Anyone else out there applying?

I think I got you mixed up with the girl who was also an alternate this spring but got in for the fall lol.

Still congrats on your 2nd choice:nurse: ( I really should have applied other places I just didnt want to drive 40-60 mins out of my way)

Yeah there is really not much else we can say or do but just wait it out. Whatever happens its never the end of the world.

Lindycelina who did u take for Ap2. What were your points when u applied? This is stressing me out and I haven't even applied yet.

To be honest I'm not sure exactly how many points I had! I thought I had something really low but someone with 139 said they didn't get an alternate seat and I did, so I guess I had more then I thought. And yes I definitely plan to attend my backup if I don't get in! WT has a great program but honestly there are other schools out there that are just as good. I just want to be a nurse! I'd love to go to WT but the school I got into is basically just as good and the end result is the same- I become a nurse!

I took AP at FTCC in Fayetteville. And yeah 22bebe I know what you mean, I'm going to be driving about 45 mins each way if I don't get into WT! But thankfully my life allows for the commute. I applied everywhere within a 1.5 hour drive of me!

Lindy...is your other school FTCC?

No it's Sampson! What's your backup?

Y'all I can't even right now! I don't know how this school makes decisions!! I have a friend who was at JCC in their nursing program and just failed out this semester...It was her first year second semester. She just said that she contacted Wake a couple weeks ago about starting there (has not submitted an application or anything) and said that she thinks they're going to let her start in the Fall where she left off. So basically like someone who was already at Wake and failed. How is that fair?! I understand if you're at Wake...but to fail at another school and still get in in front of others is total BS. If she starts in the fall and I don't I'm going to be so sad. Like that takes away from our seats. I'm kinda hoping she's mistaken and that she'll still have to apply and would start in Spring. I just don't see how they could do that.

*****??? She would need to go to an info session, apply to wake tech, transfer her credits, and then apply to the nursing program. That wouldn't matter though because our deadline was 1/31.

But I guess that doesn't matter for people who fail nursing and want to take our spots.

JPeters247 Thanks for all of that info! Makes me feel better that people got in even with D's and C's.. even tho I've gotten nothing but A's and B's since being in Wake Tech. I was a transfer from another community college out-of-state so my transfer grades were a lot of C's and some B's. Obviously, I didn't take schooling too seriously and now it's coming back to bite me. I still only have 149pts at the end of the day...

APeregoy I'd be quite confident that I'd get into the program if I were in your seat. I understand that it's not a guarantee and you are feeling anxious because we are forced to play this waiting game. Luckily, orientation is only 5 days away and some of your questions will be answered and hopefully a good weight off of your shoulders. Imagine how I feel at 149pts when I should have 160+ thanks in-part to a computer error :(

Omigosh! What kind of computer error?! I am looking forward to Friday. At least I will know what number alternate I am. I'm hoping for top 5...we'll see though.

I had signed up for Micro last semester, but I was randomly dropped before the deadline to pay for class. The school pretty much said that it never happened on their end of the database or that I might not have paid-off my financial aid that I owed, therefore I was dropped. I had already paid-off financial aid months in advance so that wasn't the case. Ah well... no need stressing over something I have no control over. Even top 10 seems like a good #

That does suck. I wish I would've taken micro when I originally planned...then I wouldn't be worried at all. With the small amount of seats this time, even top 10 is scary. I hate there is nothing more I can do except wait and hope people don't take their spots.
