I am a ut houston hopeful applying for the pacesetter and traditional programs for fall 2011! I will be done with my pre-req's: engl 1302 and hist 1302 this spring 2011. I plan on taking the hesi the beginning of December since the deadline for ut-houston has been changed to Jan 15. 2011. I wish everybody good luck as were getting down to the wire!!1 Anyone else out there?
On the Hepatitis B vaccinations, I tried to get the series started through my family doctor, but she refused to administer it because I was already immune and had the titer paperwork for it. Does anyone know if the dates to the series are required when filling out the immunization forms? I don't have any childhood records of the immunizations and all the titers and shots I took were for a CNA course previously, so those are the closest records I have to provide.
Join our Facebook group - we have immunization info there. Search for "UTHSC SON December 2012"
i dont really know when the status will be updated, but don't take it as a turn for the worst. keep hoping, you still have a chance. the envelope was post marked march 3rd, but the letter is dated march 11th, 2011. lol. could be a typo and was meant to be march 1st or there was a hurry to crush someone's hopes... who's hopes? this guy. heh.

did u apply to other school?
So sorry for those who did not get in this round - would re-taking some of your classes improve anything? Re-taking the HESI? No fun, but you gotta do what you gotta do.
They need to get more Professors= more spots for good candidates.
Best Wishes and keep on trying! They need you out there!

to raise my gpa, i'd have to bump up my A&P 2 from a B to an A, and retake all my previous biology major courses for As. ochem1, ochem2, quantitative analysis, microbio, metabolism, comparative vertebrate anatomy, and immunology. stopped in my tracks 1 year before getting a BS in bio. Guess i'll focus on lonestar adn program as I have applied there too.
Good luck MAC031!!!!!!!!
I am assuming your over all GPA is what got you - correct? Or was it the science GPA? I may have misunderstood them, but the only science I think they look at is A&Ps, Chem (hey take intro - I did), and Nutrition to "make up" the science GPA - don't know if that helps?
Hope you get into Lone Star - I have to giggle every time I say that - I am currently enrolled at Cyfair - and every time I say "Lone Star" I do it in the way Dark Helmet does it in the Mel Brooks movie - Space Balls!!!!!! Yeah, don't do it in front of the administrators - they don't find it as funny as I do.
Best wishes - keep your pecker up!
