Fall 2011 UT Houston Health Sciences hopefuls

Published

I am a ut houston hopeful applying for the pacesetter and traditional programs for fall 2011! I will be done with my pre-req's: engl 1302 and hist 1302 this spring 2011. I plan on taking the hesi the beginning of December since the deadline for ut-houston has been changed to Jan 15. 2011. I wish everybody good luck as were getting down to the wire!!1 Anyone else out there?

Who all applied to Texas A&M HSC and got into UT houston and is going to UT houston for sure?

Hello everyone! I am new to this forum. Congratulations to everyone who has been accepted! And I'm sorry for those who haven't gotten in yet. Keep trying! It is a shame that they don't have enough space for so many qualified candidates.

I have a couple questions, if someone wouldn't mind helping me out! So, like some of y'all, my UT Link says that I have been granted provisional acceptance and that my admission letter is in the mail. Does this mean for sure (assuming that I finish my prerequisites) that I am accepted?? I am hesitant to get too excited until I actually see the letter!

Also, I applied for the Accelerated program and I know that if you don't get accepted into it, then they send your application to the Generic program. So I am wondering if this provisional acceptance means into the accelerated or the generic program? Maybe there are some other people out there who are in the same boat and know how to figure this out.

Sorry for the long post and thanks for the help! Best of luck to everyone and I hope to see you all at UT HSC!

Sly2011, congratulations on your acceptance! Provisional acceptance is a sure thing, assuming you complete your prerequisites with a C or better and pass the drug and background check. A lot of us are provisional at this point because we're still working on our prerequisites. But no worries, you're in!

In UTLink, there's a drop-down box that lets you select a specific semester. Which semester shows you as being accepted? If it's Summer 2011, you're in the Accelerated program; if it's Fall 2011, you're in the regular program.

Hello! Congratulations to everyone that has been accepted! I have a provisional acceptance on UT Link as well! I can't believe it! I was so excited last night that I couldn't even sleep! I still haven't received the letter in the mail though. I will keep you posted and look forward to having classes with you guys in the FALL! Can you believe it??!!

Check the mail today - no letter!!!!

I guess they went to a special place in the amazon to cut down the special acceptance letter paper tree, floating it back down the Amazon River, grinding it, bleaching in, pressing it to make the paper to send us the letter? Don't even get me started on what they are having to do to make the ink....

Seriously, this sounds so illogical, but until I have the letter in my hand I am not 100% convinced that I made it....okay, until I am in the chair of my first class - THEN I'll accept I made it....where are my tums?

I agree with you @oldcrone. I haven't receive officially anything yet so this is making me really nervous. I am not fully convinced that I got accepted.

Congratulations to everyone who has been accepted! And for those who haven't gotten in yet, I know for sure they will get accepted next semester. Just stay focus, work on your weak areas, pray and don't give up. Even if you do not get accepted this time. Just keep trying you will get accepted next time... Boost up your nursing GPA and Science GPA if possible. Get healthcare work experience. I have been trying to get in since 2009. I have wasted my whole year at HBU for nothing. This year I have applied at 5 institution including RN program and this would be my second acceptance letter. I was interviewed Spring 2011. I was so sure about getting in as my interview went really well last semester. This semester I was not even expecting to see my status would change. That's why I was not regular at allnurses like I used to be last year and found out yesterday about the change. So just believe in me I have been through this and stay focus. Do not Give Up! "Determination is the key to success."

Hi everyone! I'm new to posting on AN but I've been watching this thread for awhile. I just found out I got a provisional acceptance (I'm finishing A&P 2 and Micro this spring)! Like some of you guys, I still won't quite believe it until I have that paper in hand! I was wondering if they tell us if we're accepted to the Pacesetters or Traditional program on UTLink, or if it's in the letter they send out. Mine just says "You have been granted provisional admission. Admission letter in the mail."

I am SOOO excited to meet everyone in the fall! Congrats to those that got in! And for those that didn't, keep applying! There's lots of great nursing schools in Houston and I have no doubt that as long as you're passionate about this, it'll happen!

Thanks for your help, rocket surgery! I checked on my UT Link and my acceptance is under the Summer 2011, so I guess that means accelerated program. I was a little confused because, even though it is in the Summer part, it says BSN in Generic Nursing. But I could be reading too much into that! I will definitely join the facebook group! I hope the letters come out soon!

Okay, I had seen a few groups, but I just requested to join the one you mentioned! Thanks! I'll see you in May!

Hi all, I am little confused in here... Don't you all start Fall 2011 Traditional BSN or Pacesetters? Am I at the wrong thread? I just joined the UTHSC SON 2012. Is that the group starts fall 2011? Some one plz clarify...:nurse:

Blue River, Pacesetters is not the same thing as Accelerated. The deadline to apply for Accelerated was December 1st and the deadline for Traditional and Pacesetters was January. People who applied for Accelerated have to have a bachelor's degree in something else already. But if you applied to Accelerated and don't get in, then they automatically send your application to the Traditional program, so you might be accepted in that one. Accelerated, Traditional and Pacesetters will all be class of 2012 (I think), so I think all of those people might be in that facebook group. The Traditional and Pacesetters start in the Fall 2011 and the Accelerated starts in Summer 2011. I never found a thread specifically for Accelerated 2011, but this thread seemed to have people from all of the programs on it.

I hope that helped! Anyone feel free to correct me if I messed that up!

Thanks for your info. I didn't apply for accelarated though. My application was for Traditional BSN Fall 2011.
