Fall 2011 UT Houston Health Sciences hopefuls

Published

I am a ut houston hopeful applying for the pacesetter and traditional programs for fall 2011! I will be done with my pre-req's: engl 1302 and hist 1302 this spring 2011. I plan on taking the hesi the beginning of December since the deadline for ut-houston has been changed to Jan 15. 2011. I wish everybody good luck as were getting down to the wire!!1 Anyone else out there?

I wouldn't worry about it too much then unless you get the rejection letter or your application file removed on UTLink. It appears to be that UTHSC is updating statuses in groups rather than all at once and it's taken quite a while now since the first groups have received their updates.

Congrats to everyone who has been receiving acceptances through UT Link!!! I received a huge envelope in my mailbox Saturday.... so shaken, excited, nervous, I tore open the envelope only to find another transcript evaluation. Whomp Whomp. LOL Something is better than nothing though. I was wondering if anyone else received the same thing? I can't wait for us to all get the actual letters!!!! Patience is a virtue :)

Angel: I received the same thing on Saturday. It was pretty surprising to find nothing more than a transcript evaluation considering the last one was sent in a standard sized envelope, what a tease! haha

Does anyone know if it is too early to start turning in information to take care of the new holds? I haven't received any emails or admission packet yet.. If anyone has any info on what to do from here and when we can start, please share!

Hey nurseguy86, do you have facebook? If you do, join the group we started; just search for "UTHSC SON DECEMBER 2012" and request to join. We've posted all sorts of information about holds, housing, uniforms etc. there. It's definitely not too early to start turning in information to take care of holds; I've already turned in my CPR certification and residency form, and both holds have been removed from my UTLINK.

Oh, and I got a 2nd transcript evaluation too, but I already knew that it was coming because someone in our facebook group posted about it!

Nurseguy - Thanks for the response... glad to hear I'm not the only one! Will you be in the traditional BSN program or accelerated?

Really?

Because mine hasn't changed yet and I haven't received a rejection letter yet either. Did you receive one?

I did get a rejection letter (which I happen to still have because I keep everything UT sends me...) and it was dated Monday, November 8, 2010 and was postmarked on Nov. 9th.

oh and I think they had told us we would be notified by the 15th of November or something like that so I didn't get it until almost the last minute :(

Prenursing9892: Thank you for the invite, I will look for the group. Although, I've probably made more posts on allnurses in the past few months than I have on facebook in the past 4 years..

Angel w/a: I am in the generic nursing program, how about you? I'm curious when we find out if we will be in the traditional or pacesetters curriculum though.

Right! Me too! I'm in the generic nursing program as well. I'll look for the group on Facebook although I barely get on it also. I look forward to getting to know everyone! I'm so excited I already ordered my pink stethoscope! :)

I received a provisional acceptance on the UTLink last week. The Link said acceptance letter was in the mail-probably get something this week or next.

I'm wondering if any of you can offer some advice on the housing in the medical center area, preferable on the shuttle line. I don't know the area and, from what I can gather, the university housing is kind of tough to get. So . . . anybody familiar enough with the area to offer some suggestions or insights?

Hey texasnurse, i am also looking for a place around medical center area. Let me know when you find out any info about the housing or apartment close to SON.

I had the same thing. I had applied for Spring 2011 and the interviewer told me my interview went great and that I would be a really good candidate for the program and so I sure I would get in and I didn't. I had them carry my application over for fall but was discouraged when I never heard any news other than them resending my UT link information. I was surprised when I randomly checked Friday and it showed provisional acceptance! I still can't believe it really happened!

Congrats! I am happy for you. I know what you mean...:nurse:

Is there anyone who hasn't received anything yet?? Or is it just me?
