Fall 2011 UT Houston Health Sciences hopefuls

Published

I am a ut houston hopeful applying for the pacesetter and traditional programs for fall 2011! I will be done with my pre-req's: engl 1302 and hist 1302 this spring 2011. I plan on taking the hesi the beginning of December since the deadline for ut-houston has been changed to Jan 15. 2011. I wish everybody good luck as were getting down to the wire!!1 Anyone else out there?

@Chaos0058: haha! good to know :)

I just wish we knew something...anything. I would love to know the methodology behind admissions decisions for this next semester, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Also, I'm wondering if our UTLink statuses will be updated around the last week of March, because I read in the Fall 2009 and Fall 2010 threads that their statuses were updated around that time, and that they received decision letters in the mail a week or two after. If so, it would definitely be something to look forward to this month!!

I hope that if and apparently since they aren't doing interviews they will send out acceptance letters earlier than April 1st. Usually it takes until April because of all the interviewing but if they aren't doing inteviews..........

April is a long way away. I think I am getting burnt out obsessing over it. I still get the mail every day but now I'm not checking 2x a day at least.

Btw, when I talked with a UT admissions advisor they said more people apply in the Fall than in the spring.

I also like the Pacesetter ideology but since it is new I wonder how the guinea pigs felt it went. Waiting to do clinicals until you really understand the material is nice but for anyone who understands the hours and hours of care plans and med sheets that come with clinicals -doesn't it kinda scare you to have all your clinicals at the end of the program? Still it would be interesting to do.

Summer applicants are already finding out about admissions decisions! Check out their thread!

Jealous! I wish we were finding out too!!!

I wonder if Admissions has been working on Summer & Fall concurrently, or if they will wait until after they've finished with Summer to start Fall?

me too, rocket surgery!

I have no idea how they're doing it, but I think they'd have to be working on them at the same time since there are so many applicants.

Lots of accelerated applicants who don't get in will be in the running for fall, so I would think they'd have to finish summer apps first...so they know who to consider for fall. Anyway, if summer folks are finding out now, they're wrapping up all that and will get to us soon! Also, @reachin4thestars---I had that same thought, that if there are no interviews that should speed up the process? I guess we'll see.

In the meantime I'm going about my life and have handed the process over to fate...mostly. ;) (There are definitely occasional obsessive days!)

Well today I got denied by PV A&M....what a downer. And that was my last resort. They told me I had excessive fails. Which one was in Anatomy 2. I got an INcomplete, then a D. Then retook it again and got a B (was having issues the first 2 times with LIFE). Also retook government.

I might just get a nutrition degree and go the accelerated route.

Sorry to hear that... :( PVAMU does seem especially strict about repeats, grade history etc. from what I've seen. Pretty much why I didn't apply; it didn't seem like I would get past those requirements either. I took history a million times.

There's still hope for other schools though! And if you do get another degree, that could help you get into a BSN (as well as give you a useful knowledge base)...

hey carrien86 sorry about the bad news. How did u hear about pvam ? i've applied there as well and i haven't heard anything from them.

So sorry Carrien86-

I didn't apply to PVAMU because of my statistics class I took the math version and apparently they want the psych version??? Anyways, I would have been in the same boat as you apparently.

I at one time was sucking at Life and withdrew from A&P (and other courses) so I guess I would also be receiving a rejection letter.

Keep your chin up! There's still UT and you can try the local community colleges!:redpinkhe:)

Did anyone's holds change on utlink?

I found 3 additional holds this afternoon.. I wonder if this means what I hope it does! I don't want to get ahead of myself, status is still pending...
