Hi all!
Thought I would start a thread for the fall semester! Anyone who wants to share their stats or anything about the application process can post them here! My stats as of now...
Pre-nursing GPA: 3.54
Science GPA: 3.67
HESI: 87.7
Pretty worried that my stats aren't good enough. Scored low on the A&P section of the HESI (80%) but made an A in the class...hoping maybe that will help even it out? I get discourage when I read through the other threads and see people get rejected with 4.0 GPA's and 90s on the HESI. I do have 80 volunteering hours at a children's hospital but I doubt that would help me enough.
So, I talked to someone from admissions today about when they would send out notifications and they said June 1st... I wonder why they changed the date from April 15th to June :/
I believe they just say this so they're not bombarded with phone calls because for summer applications they told us in January we will be notified by April and they actually notified us mid February.

I believe this to be the case too. Only reason I suspect they may wait longer is because they may have rushed Summer's notifications to get everything completed before the Fall deadline.

Yes exactly. They also told me all notices for summer will be out and done with by May 1st so hopefully we'll hear about fall shortly after?
Absolutely no way notifications start rolling out June 1st. I would bet just about anything against that being true as it would be totally unrealistic to expect people to be fully prepared for classes in August having received acceptance only two months prior. Not to mention, those that don't get accepted right off the bat. Could you imagine being accepted in mid or late July? They may hope to have them completed by June 1st, but I suspect the first wave of acceptances to be rolled out by the end of the month. So, I talked to someone from admissions today about when they would send out notifications and they said June 1st... Hey ya'll!I'm new to this thread. Pleasure to meet all of my future nurse colleagues!
I just wanted to see what ya'll thought of my stats. I am definitely nervous. After going through all of the previous threads there really is not concrete formula as to who gets in and who doesn't.
I have a Bachelors in Psychology. But from what I understand they don't consider that anymore than someone who doesn't have a previous degree. I
have completed all of my pre-requisite (from what I understand. But not everyone gets a transcript eval so who knows!)
My GPA's:
Science: 3.87
Pre-req: 3.5-ish
Cumulative GPA from 200+ hours is like: 3.14 maybe? But do they even look at that? I've been told multiple things.
HESI
Reading - 92
Math - 98
Vocab - 96
A&P - 80 (eek)
Grammar - 94
Overall - 92
I get most of my information from these forums because the people who work at UT Health seem to not want to answer phones, respond to voicemails/emails, or enjoy their job.
Anyways, you guys are wonderful and we are all going to get in! YAY!
Welcome! Your stats look pretty good, but you are absolutely correct, there is no way of knowing what that means to UT.
I would like to ask though, how you calculated your science GPA? What did you base it off of? There are only 4 classes they use to calculate it? I calculated mine with 3 A's and 1 B to be a 3.75. The only thing better than that is if you have 4 A's, which would give you a 4.0.

Hello Casey!
Okay, so here is how I calculated this. And quite honestly maybe you can help clear this up for me. This is the only way I knew how to calculate it.
A - Microbiology
A - A&P 1
A - A&P 2
B - Intro to Chemistry
A - Intro to Chemistry Lab
= 3.8 (all of these classes divided by 5)
.... BUT if I calculate the A and the B together for chemistry as a 3.5 and divide it by only 4 classes (3.5, 4, 4, 4) then I would get a 3.875. Does that make sense? But of course! This is all left for me to assume to be true. Without a degree evaluation I will never know. LOL.
Ok so I did not consider the separate lecture/lab portions for the chemistry class. I've taken all of mine at lonestar and your lecture and lab grades are not separate. If your chem is 3 hours for lecture with a 'B' and 1 hour for lab with an 'A', then that calculates to a 3.81Hello Casey!Okay, so here is how I calculated this. It's no use lol myself and a few other people calculated our own gpa correctly , but UT calculates them differently. On your transcript eval you get in the mail it will have your gpa they calculated for your applications. Mine was different and so were a few others.
