When does your semester officially start?? Are you done with orientation??

My semester officially starts August 25th. I cannot wait!!! We already had our nursing orientation in June and have started some of my summer readings.

I also took my nursing math pretest and met my math requirement for the nursing program.

I may go to the general student orientation at the school because it is a new, confusingly laid out college and I dont want to have a high school flash back!!

My orientation is next Wednesday, July 13. My fall semester doesn't start until September, although I'm hoping to take my one-credit Intro to the Nursing Profession class later this summer.

I'm doing my usual reading (mainly RN magazine) and learning at the doctor's office where I work. I'm also studying for the Medical Dosages and Calculations test I'll be taking in the fall.

I'm in an AAS program. I'm also a doula- labor only, though. And a childbirth and lactation educator.

I start September 6!!! I'm very excited! Our orientation isn't until August 30 which disappoints me. I think it should have been earlier so we have a chance to get our reading started. Oh well, I should just be happy I got in! It's unbelivable how hard it is just to get accepted!!!

I start August 22nd! I had orientation a couple of weeks ago and we have another one before school starts. I am excited and getting a little nervous too. :uhoh3: I am just really excited about being a nurse and hope that school is everything I want it to be and make it to be. I am going to put in 110% and give it my all. Take care and I hope we can all go through this together.

I also start Aug. 29th. I am so excited. We had our orientation back in June, as well. I would love to get started on reading but they don't have our book list available as of yet. Our first test (Pharm) is the second week of classes. I can't wait, but at the same time I am so nervous. I have my physical, CPR, and immunizations all done. I still have to get my uniforms and equipment. We are aloud to buy them anywhere we want as long as they are all white and have our school patch on the left sleeve. Oh need good shoes too.

I don't know when my orientation is but my first class is August 31st. I've started buying my books and I've taken the advice of some others at allnurses who said to start learning about the nursing process. I bought a Dosage Calculations Made Incredibly Easy book that I'm going to start skimming through. I bought my shoes!!! I'm going to buy my stethoscope next week. I had my titers done and will get my hep vaccination tomorrow. The week before class, I'm getting my hair and nails done. I'm having my nails cut short and manicured Not that it really matters but I want to have a day of pampering before school starts. My mother-in-law is buying my uniforms and lab coat for me. Isn't that nice?! I have an awesome MIL! I'm so excited. Now, if I could just find a decent part-time job...

I start on August 22nd. We had our orientation in May. So far I have purchased a stethoscope, bandage scissors, penlights, clipboard, Saunders Student Nurse Planner, a PDA and my $50 background check. I have my CPR class next week. I'm buying my uniforms a couple of weeks before I start. I'm hoping to lose 10 pounds before I buy them :)

Sept 1st is my start date! I can't wait! We don't really have an orientation or anything we just start right up and within 3 weeks of the semester starting we are in clinicals. I am in the ADN program @ my local CC.

I just ordered a palm pilot, I got it yesterday, it's so fun! I can't wait to download nursing software, but I am waiting to see what they recommend before purchasing software. I bought a bp cuff, and my friend is giving me her stethoscope from a job she had for a just a few months, so it's almost brand new. I am going to order my uniforms soon, it's so fun. I also ordered a kit that the school requires. I can't wait to start! :)

Starting 8/22. No orientation yet, and no word about when it will be.

I'm going to New York on Friday for a short vacation, then I have to get to work preparing!
