When does your semester officially start?? Are you done with orientation??

My semester officially starts August 25th. I cannot wait!!! We already had our nursing orientation in June and have started some of my summer readings.

I also took my nursing math pretest and met my math requirement for the nursing program.

I may go to the general student orientation at the school because it is a new, confusingly laid out college and I dont want to have a high school flash back!!

We start August 25th and orientation for me is on Monday night, July 11th. I'm very excited! :)

Orientation is Sept 15, I think we start Sept 26th. We'll order our uniforms and such on orientation day. Family orientation follows our full day of orientation-gotta let the whole family know what "we're" in for. We have to have our CPR and all background, titers, immunizations and what-not in by Aug 5.

Now I'm shopping for a new PDA and all the other goodies I'll need. I have some of my books but...still a long list of them to go.

I have orientation on Aug 26th and will start classes on the 29th. I've been trying to read up on care plans and dosage calculations. We will be taking the NET during orientation and I stink at math! :confused:

So far I've got my steth, most of my books (expensive, arggh!), and my shoes. I ordered the "wash n' wear slip-ons" by Propet from zappos.com and LOVE them! They are like walking on pillows and pretty cheap too ($62 with free shipping). I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who's nervous about starting school! :no:

Ditto Tweege! We're starting together at the same school-math is my weakest subject as well. Can't wait to start!!!

Hi all,

I start Aug. 22nd. We had our orientation in May. While there we ordered our uniforms and a bunch of other stuff, got our book of rules and regulations. I have borrowed a Math for Meds book from a friend who is in her third semester, and have begun going through it. I hope to go cover to cover, math is not my strongest area, although I'm starting Ch5 and have not had any trouble at all understanding what I'm looking at. She also gave me abbreviations and thought I'd make flash cards and begin practicing now.

I too will graduate 2007.

Classes begin Aug 23, I am very nervous. I will need to change my schedule around though, b/c I will need to work part time and the way my schedule is now that will not be possible. Orientation was in June and there is another all day orientation Aug. 19.

Hey I am in Charlotte, NC and getting ready to start at Mercy School of Nursing! (I'm so excited!)

Orientation is August 18 and 19 (all day) with our CPR class the 17th (all day).

School starts on August 22.

Hopefully, I will graduate May 2007!!!

Finally got the letter today thought I would go crazy if I had to wait another week! Orientation is on Aug 29th....must also brush up on the math skills-we have to make 90% or better to remain in the program. Off to the math lab and Barnes n Noble.........

I start on August 22nd. We had our orientation in May. So far I have purchased a stethoscope, bandage scissors, penlights, clipboard, Saunders Student Nurse Planner, a PDA and my $50 background check. I have my CPR class next week. I'm buying my uniforms a couple of weeks before I start. I'm hoping to lose 10 pounds before I buy them :)

We start on August 22nd. I have no idea when orientation is. They are supposed to send out a leetr with all of the infor, and the head of the nursing department said that we should recieve that in the mail this week. but sinmce hurricane Dennis is headd this way, I don't know, b/c all schools are closed and most people are evacuating. But hopefully the were already sent out and I'll get it by Tuesday.

Whew. Motormouth.

Anyway, does anyone have any books are tools that would be good to get before hand?
