Fall 2007 nursing school applicants

please post when you get your letter so ill know when i should start harassing the mail man...lol

it's supposed to be the beginning of may but they were sent out a week or two early last semester. let's hope it's the same this time around! can someone please just put me in a coma or something so i can stop stressing about this stupid letter?!

I got an "acceptance" letter to Prairie View just two days ago. But it was to the university, NOT to the college of nursing. I called the main campus and they said you have to be accepted to the college before the SON can even offer you a spot in the program. I turned all my stuff in at the beg. of January and am now waiting to see if I got into PV. I really think I am going to die during this wait...

I keep getting stuff from PV main campus saying my file is incomplete because I turned in all my info to the college of nursing as I was instructed to do. When I called them, they said the SON would send it to them eventually. Their procedures are weird. Let me know what you did. Thanks

TCC applicants ~ last spring, the letters were received the last 1-2 weeks in April if I remember correctly. Sorry! I remember the waiting. This semester has been surreal so far!

Ya the same thing happened to me at first. They told me that the SON has to "review" everything first and then they mail it to the main campus to be entered into the computer. They say there is a big lag in the time it takes to have it in the computer because the SON only mails periodically. All I know is that I am dying to know if I am accepted into the SON either there or the other schools Ive applied to. I don't care which one, I just want to be a nurse! :uhoh3:

do you attend tcc now? well that is another month of waiting and chewing my fingernails off....ill be too crazy to attend nursing school after this wait is over ....

oh ok well then we will be class mates if i get in. i am applying to the fast track program and will start with the mental health in summer 2 ( of course after i test out off foundations and those other 2 courses)...tell me something how strict are they on immunizations. i couldn't get all mine because i was prego ,but i did have a note from my doctor. now i have my tb and will get my hep b started this week. but could not get them in with the application. good luck with your classes...

Unfortunatly, they are VERY strict. I got my last hep B shot on the day we were able to petition for classes. If I had not, I would have not been allowed to register or attend clinical.

My best friend is at UTA and they have the option of a waiver, but TCC won't take a waiver if you have started the immunizations. Or at least this is what I was told. I would definately ask, because if you get in, you may be able to protest the waiver thing.

I also applied there. When did you get your letter? Did you have all pre-reqs complete? I am dying waiting.

I got my letter on Mar 10. I had to complete the physical exam, and drug test and mail the other requirements back within two weeks. Yes, I finished my prerequisites, but it was only because I had plan to start in the spring. I was rejected for spring because I was exempt from taking the TASP test when I graduated high school, but Prairie View sent me a letter saying I was missing the THEA scores. So then the lady told me if I take it I would still qualify for admissions. Then I received a letter that said I took it too late.
