  1. Hey does anyone know when we'll receive our W2s or are they available online because from what I understand that money is taxable and we're paying federal taxes on it so it should definitely be included on our taxes...and I know for me it will increase my refund by about $3000 so I'm interested to see when we'll get them. Hopefully it doesn't take as long as everything else has...any old people know how this works and a timeframe? Thanks guys :wink2:
  2. Yeah I talked to Ms. Joyner like 2 months ago and she told me to go ahead and send in the paperwork because I had to close my old account...so I don't think it was a matter of me changing it I think it's more if they actually put it in like they were supposed to at this point. I was really trying to see if everyone had their already so I'd know how worried to be...And believe me I have been ringing their phones off the hook and gotten no answers.
  3. OK so has everyone gotten their payments??? I keep checking my bank account and still nothing. Mind you i changed my banking information after I had been awarded and sent the necessary paperwork to Ms. Joyner but with the unorganized nature of this program I am starting to wonder if that has something to do with it. Anybody???
  4. It is amazing how nobody at my school seems to know anything about this scholarship...the one person that had heard of it said she can't believe I got it because only one other student she knew of had applied and she didn't get it. It's making it a pain trying to get these papers filled out. Not to mention it's like they don't want you to get the money...If the government is gonna pay for anything my motto is just let them pay.ERRRR:yawn:
  5. It was in there when I checked the mail today...I was so happy to actually have it in writing! The only question I still have is about our tuition for this semester. Mine is already paid but my cost of attendance is so high at my school that I can still invoice NSP and not be over my limit...I'm curious to see how they handle this if they'll send the money to the school and the school give me a refund to pay back my loans and stuff.
  6. Hey did anybody else who got the scholarship get another email today explaining the payments and stuff? I got it and have yet to get the actual written letter.
  7. Hey carebear I think maybe you should take that actual email down...I'm not being mean but with everyone waiting on pins and needles about this scholarship I can only imagine her office being flooded with phonecalls because all of her info is on there..just a heads up.
  8. I got an email this morning (the same one carebear got) saying I got the scholarship!!! I was literally screaming in my car and calling everybody I knew. Now I can stop stalking the mailman (I know he'll be glad)!! Good luck to everyone...I hope there are more posts today and lots more get it!!:yeah::yeah:
  9. Hey just an FYI to everyone waiting...I did speak with someone at HRSA last week (still don't know how helpful this is because they seem as in the dark as us:) and he told me that they are making awards right now so you should be notified by mail if you receive it and if not they'll notify you in October. This sounded to me as if they won't be updating the status online but rather sending letters. Hope this helps a little with everyone's twenty minute checking of HRSAs website (if you're like me that is)
  10. I looked at mine and I don't have a link either...I'm assuming this is not for everyone because in previous years posts they never asked for this. Maybe it's if they are unfamiliar with the program you're enrolled in then they'll ask for this.
  11. Mine says the same thing...I'm really hoping decisions have been made one way or the other...I am so tired of waiting and checking my status like 20 times a day!!
  12. I have done the unthinkable(well in terms of CRNA acceptance). I made a C in patho which I had to take my first semester of nursing school over the summer. I really don't have an excuse the class was just really difficult for me and finding that way of studying that works for you while trying to understand really hard material just got the best of me. I'm really confident I can pull As and Bs the next 4 semesters but I wonder if that will crush my chances. And just FYI I live in MS and I attend UMC which has a CRNA program affiliated with UAB and that's where I am thinking about applying along with UT-memphis, OLOL, and LSU...thanks for any input from ANYONE!!!
  13. As far as the service obligation is concerned look on their website under FAQs and choose the one about service obligation. I checked it out the other day and from what I can gather almost any hospital is considered critical shortage for the purposes of the scholarship so you pretty much choose where you wanna work with the exception of private clinics and such. Anyways just check it out and if you still have questions then email the hrsa about it...no need in living in poverty (as I am right now thanks to nursing school:)) without all the facts. Just my:twocents:
  14. I just received that e-mail on my blackberry but I was so freaked out I had to come all the way home to read it on a "real" computer screen just to respond...they really should tell us soon before I go crazy:no:
  15. I just checked mine and it says "under review" as well...let's all keep our fingers crossed that it's a good thing
