How many of you are there? What's next for you? I've just registered for classes. We only have one set of clinicals in the first semester. It's adult care 1. Other than that we have assessment and fundamentals. I need to get my physical and get tested to see if I still have immunity from previous vaccines. If not, I get to be a pin cushion for a little while :) Other than that, I have to figure out how I'm going to pay for school now that I'm taking on twice the tuition bill transferring to a university. I'm applying to two hospitals to see if I can get in their scholarship and service programs. This is a super busy month!
I got my acceptance letter in late March a few days after my 22nd birthday! I cannot explain in words how I felt but it was something like a big mixture of excitement, nasuea, anxiety, and relief especially since I've been rejected twice before!! I have found that blogging really helps curb the anxiety. I recently started a blog about my journey to and through nursing school and I love to read other student nurses blogs. If anyone has one they'd like to share I'd really enjoy reading them and enjoy for you o follow mine...Keep Calm and Nurse On...

I got accepted in mid-April to an Accelerated BSN program & couldn't be more excited, although I know the amount of work awaiting me in late August. :)
I had to turn down an offer of admission from a different ABSN program in 2010 due to an unexpected (but definitely welcomed) pregnancy & I am thrilled to be back on track. I know admissions don't grow on trees, so I was terrified about getting in somewhere again. The relief is overwhelming!
This summer I need to renew my CPR, get the TB test/vaccine titers & complete the background check, then the clinical rotation for my phlebotomy certification. I would also love to become a CNA and/or log some volunteer time at a local hospital. I plan to brush up on medical terminology and medical math as well.
Congrats to everyone else in the Fall 2012 cohort.
I got my acceptance letter this week too!! I start the ADN program in August! I'm so excited, after countless rejection letters I FINALLY got in!!! I can't stop talking about it to everyone. My orientation session isn't until the end of May, so now I just have to wait and I swear it's just as bad as waiting for the acceptance letter. Congrats to everyone else who got in!!! woot woot!
I feel the same way now! I was so anxious waiting for my acceptance letter that I thought once I got it I would be ok. Boy was I wrong! I cannot wait for orientation to get my schedule and finds out all the details so I can start purchasing my things. I have to wait until mid June though
Congratulations to everyone! Adjusting to nursing school in the first semester was pretty hard for me. I had such a difficult time learning all the new information and CRITICAL THINKING! Just stick with it! I'm not saying it gets easier, but once you have that foundation things start to make a little more sense. GOOD LUCK!
I received my acceptance letter earlier this month! I've had this constant feeling of excitement, nervousness and fear of the unknown every since! Our orientation is mid may so hopefully it will answer some of my questions. I'm soooooo happy we get to wear navy scrubs instead of white! Congratulations and good luck to everyone!!! ?
Pre-Orientation is coming up soon at the end of May. There, I'll be getting all information I need in regards to this coming Fall. I will be receiving lots of paperwork to fill out and hand in. For example, order forms for textbooks and uniforms, background check forms, physical and immunization forms, drug testing, fingerprinting, orientation and class schedule discussion, and an opportunity to ask alot of questions. Honestly, this Fall cannot come soon enough for me. I am ready for it and I can't wait. But, I will for now. I'm excited to meet my fellow nursing classmates. Over the summer, I'll be taking a BLS CPR and first aid training course.
Good luck to everyone. :)

Ahhh me! I haven't technically been accepted yet, but long story short honors students at my university are admitted automatically if they have above a 3.4 at the end of fall quarter. So as long as I don't REALLY blow this quarter I'm in! I don't really know what I'm taking next semester, my school is switching from quarters to semesters and everything is really confusing. I know microbiology, health assessment and patho will be in there though! I'm so excited to actually start!
