  1. I always thought you needed to pass the NCLEX first and get licensed. It's good to know thats not always the case!
  2. Congratulations to everyone! Adjusting to nursing school in the first semester was pretty hard for me. I had such a difficult time learning all the new information and CRITICAL THINKING! Just stick with it! I'm not saying it gets easier, but once you have that foundation things start to make a little more sense. GOOD LUCK!
  3. @Jayelle314 I am in Long Beach as well and have been thinking about applying for a patient tech position. I am about to end my 3rd semester at CSULB. One of my classmates told me she has been applying for tech positions for a while and has been unable to even get an interview. How did you do it? Any tips? Thanks!
  4. I'm not sure how your psych test will be, but so far there have been a lot of med questions on mine. So I like to review the different classes of meds used to treat the problem and the side effects. There is usually always a question about MAOIs and diet. I normally read each chapter, take the quizzes on evolve, and cover the meds. Hope this helps.
  5. They haven't earned the title yet! I don't agree. At our school we have license plate frames that say CSULB Nursing. I haven't bought one yet but want one. I think thats completely different than one that says BSN, RN, etc. though.
  6. This is all such great advice! I am half way through my BSN program and am expecting my first child in July. I have been extremely stressed out about the future. I pray every night that I will be able to get through school, pass the NCLEX, and get hired. My future child is depending on me! Seeing mothers of multiple children that are succeeding in nursing school gives me so much hope! Good luck to everyone!
  7. @newmidwifehopeful I have actually been looking into SDSU's CNM/WHNP program as well. I'm glad to hear that it's a good program! Do you know about how many people apply for the program and how many are actually accepted? Thanks!
  8. Congrats on passing! Such great information! Thanks for sharing how you tackled the beast. I am about to end my 3rd semester and I want to start studying for the NCLEX asap. This will definitely help!
