Fall 2010 Lonestar ADN Hopefuls

Published

Hey everybody! I just wanted to start a thread where all of us who are beginning the stressful process of worrying over Lonestar admissions can give each other some support!:yeah: I'm planning on applying to LSC-Montgomery - retaking Psych 2301 in a Second 8 Weeks class to get an*A,* and getting ready to take the HESI in November when Moco's testing opens. I'm freaking out over how much is on the line...must make an *A!* Must blow HESI out of the water!!!!!

Anyway, just wanted to say good luck to everyone as their finishing up their prereqs and preparing for the HESI and ask...

LoneStar hopefuls...WHERE YOU AT?!! :heartbeat

Is Cy-Fair included in that cut-off as well? I applied with a 11.51 or something close to that, over 11.5, but just curious if that would pertain to all the LSC campuses. I also applied to UT. Im soooo nervous I can not even focus properly!

I think it just depends on how many chose Cy Fair as their first choice. One of the girls in my micro class was told that they (Cy Fair) didn't get as many applications this year, so that could mean it's lower than usual. You have a good score though, so you probably have nothing to worry about (though I know exactly how you feel!).

What I want to know is if Montgomery can get the letters out next week, then Cy Fair should be able to as well, right? Looks like I'll be taking over the mail checking duties on Monday. :D

Just went back to the Fall 2009 thread, and Cyfair took eight days longer than the other schools. I really hope they don't do that this year...I'll end up a nervous wreck seeing everyone else get theirs and still waiting for something over here.:uhoh3:

Hi everyone. I am new here. I applied North Harris with 11.47 as my second choice. If my score is over their cut off, do I have chance to get in? I really don't know how they pick up applicants who have second choice for their school. I am very nervous.

UGG Mr. Postman,,, hurry up, I have been a VERY GOOD BOY and all I want is my acceptance letter. :redbeathe

you will be OK if your score is above the cut-off. Being below it is the problem. I'm not sure on exactly how they choose who go to where. As far as I know, they just line all the scores from the highest to lowest, then let those at the top get their first pick of campus. When get to someone that has their 1st pick not available, they get put them on the 2nd campus of choice.

Man, 11.5 this semester ehh. Humm... scary. I only have a score of 11.47XX. Come on Cy-Fair!! Send me my acceptance letter!!! i waited long enough!!!

I can't believe Majors Bookstore closed in Houston.. Fingers crossed in anticipation of the acceptance letter... decided instead of partying I'm gonna order the Littman 3200 Stethoscope.. comes with built in amplifier and recorder .. even bluetooth to tranfer to computer and analyse later.. could come in handy ... since at 31 I'm already hard of hearing.. anyone else crazy anxious ? anybody looking at careplan books yet ? I was thinking about getting careplan book on CD so that I could look up nanda diagnoses and cut and paste relevant diagnosis info into careplan.. would help cut down research time i bet..

Thangbom321, Thank you very much for your replying. Waiting for acceptance is not a good feeling. Hopefully, we all are lucky.

Keep in mind that even if you do fall a bit short that you still have a good chance of getting in. In the nursing info session the counselor said that montgomery's cutoff last year was 11.6, but they went down to 11.4 when people declined acceptance. Also, if you get your second choice, they will bump you up to your first before they assign the alternates. I thought that was fair.

I hope that I can be accepted by Montgomery, but North Harris is OK. One of my classmates told me that she had conversation with someone in nursing info session in Montgomery. The man told her that the cut off actually is 11.56.., and he also said that they would send letter out on tomorrow. If so, most of you who have a score over that number may get letter before end this week. How nice!!!

That would be awesome! I'll start checking my mail.

I just told my husband that starting Friday, I'm checking the mail everyday. Realistically, it'll probably end up being multiple times a day.:o
