FALL 2020 Johns Hopkins MSN: Entry into Nursing

Updated:   Published

Hello everyone,

I'm currently preparing to apply to JHSON MSN: Entry into nursing program for fall 2020. I was wondering anyone has an idea what the acceptance criteria is?

I have a very good gpa in undergrad (3.92) so the admissions team told me I do not need to include GRE scores.

Also how many words should our essays be?

Best of Luck!

My scholarship offer scared me lmao! Like Thank you Jesus ! I can graduate with no debt ??

Did all of you get scholarships? I’m wondering if they only notified those with scholarships tonight. This is brutal ?

I got offered admission as well. I have not had a chance to see if I got a scholarship or not.

Holy bat turds, I have a decision to make. Stay local at get my BSN from CSU East Bay or move to the other side of the country and get a MESN. Probably also a decision leave school broke or carry significant debt. Nonetheless, it's a position to be in.

Maybe it has to do when our applications were verified? Mine was verified Nov. 20th. I haven’t received anything yet. Anyway, congrats to everyone who got on!!

Probably not. I turned my application on Nov 19 (I think. It was right before the deadline) and received the verification notice after the 20th. I did confirm with JH I was in the early decision pool.

Although I could see them doing the notifications based on alphabetical order. It could be based on scholarships if they need to manually input that information. Personally, I think all notifications should go out about the same time since it could easily be done with auto-format and database to send out the emails. From last year's thread, people got phone calls as well, so JH may spread out the notifications because of the phone calls.

Remember, not hearing anything is bad and good news. The big thing, you're not out.

Does anyone think they’ll send out more decisions (acceptances and denials) today and tm? I’m in the camp that I don’t care if the decision is yes or no I just get anxious waiting.

You’re right, gotta keep a positive mindset ?

Just this past Monday, I sent them grades for a prerequisite that was in progress when I applied, so I’m hoping that could be playing a role.

How much did you get in scholarship?

I have not heard yet either. Hoping to hear on Monday, praying and crossing my fingers for positive results.

I'm sure they are doing it over a course of days. Last year, I noticed people got acceptances from Dec.20-23

I created a Facebook group for everyone. That seems to be the trend with the previous cohorts.

Will be a pleasure meeting everyone! Best of luck to everyone who has yet to be accepted!

CSUEB did the same thing, the FB group. They made it a private group that specifically for the cohort students only; no professors or staff.

Because people can be lazy, you may want to post a link to the FB group you created.
