  1. The schedule I described is for Norwalk. What is true for my campus may not be for yours. Norwalk schedule is class 8 am - 10:30 am Monday & Tuesday + one clinical day W/Th/Fr ~6:30 am - ~5:00 pm, but it can be slightly longer or shorter at your instructor's discretion.
  2. Like I said - the exact start and end times are somewhat at the discretion of each instructor, but they can be as long as 12 hours. In my personal experience, they average about 10.5 hours.
  3. Depends which campus - I'm a first year nursing student at Norwalk. We have class 8 am - 10:30 am Monday & Tuesday. Everyone has one clinical day which can be Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday. Exact start and end time will vary some based on the instructor but it can be as early as 6:30 am and as late at 6:30 pm.
  4. Experience is always great, but unfortunately it won't affect whether you get into this program - check the requirements, it's all based on points and ranking. I would just re-take the TEAS if I were you ?
  5. A bit of a silly question, but how did everyone attach their patches to their uniforms? Is it possible to iron them on, or do you have to sew them? I don't trust myself to sew them on well hahaha ?
  6. Haha I hope not cuz I'm planning to buy it while I'm there for the first day!
  7. So funny, I was looking at this exact model of Hokas today since they come in all white and don't look quite as chunky/bulky as some of their other models like the Bondi. Also looking at some all white New Balances. As far as some of the comments about the shoe requirements, maybe people at different campuses are saying different things, but at Norwalk, all they said is it must be all white and shouldn't have super flashy logos, like a bright Nike swoosh. They basically told us sneakers/running shoes are best.
  8. This may vary by campus, but at Norwalk, everyone has lecture Monday 8 - 10 am, and Tuesday 8 - 11:30 am; in addition to that, everyone has one assigned lab day on EITHER Wednesday, OR Thursday, OR Friday, and this lab day will then turn into your clinical day. It's my understanding that the length of each lab session can vary but, on average, it's 8 am - 4 pm--once this day turns into your clinical day, that changes to 6 am - 6 pm. So for those of us trying to work as much as possible, this basically looks like 1 weekday we can't work at all (lab/clinical day), and 2 weekdays we would have to arrive late to work. This is why lab/clinical day preferences were discussed at our orientation because it wouldn't be possible to work on the day you get assigned. Assuming the organization of the programs is similar on each campus, I'm going to guess at Capital, they've divided the cohort into different lab groups, and some groups meet on Tuesday, and some groups meet on Wednesday. Of course check with someone at your school, but I'm fairly certain you will not be on campus twice a week for lab ?
  9. Has anyone done their CPR certification online for Castle Branch or do we have to do it in-person?
  10. Did anyone else apply for the scholarship they sent an email about at the beginning of May? I didn't get financial aid and have already paid for my classes so I'm curious what the average amount of the scholarship award is, and how they give you the money.
  11. Take Microbio online through Johns Hopkins School of Nursing - no prereqs, slightly cheaper than University of Phoenix, and just think of all the time, stress, and money you'd save only taking one class that you don't have to even show up for in-person.
  12. Exciting! Let us know what your schedule looks like! I wonder if they're going alphabetically
  13. I recently emailed them about this and they said an advisor would contact us soon. I am also getting antsy because it would be nice to know what my schedule is going to look like ASAP so I can tell my employer and have an idea what my financial situation will be like! I'll be at the Norwalk campus
