FALL 2020 Johns Hopkins MSN: Entry into Nursing

Updated:   Published

Hello everyone,

I'm currently preparing to apply to JHSON MSN: Entry into nursing program for fall 2020. I was wondering anyone has an idea what the acceptance criteria is?

I have a very good gpa in undergrad (3.92) so the admissions team told me I do not need to include GRE scores.

Also how many words should our essays be?

Best of Luck!

Hello,

I’m applying too. The essays should be around 300 words, which is kind of short if you ask me.

Yes. It is very short. Especially for the first question. But oh well..

Do you know what the nursingCAS process is like? I heard something about a "complete" status being different from a "submitted" status.

I'm confused. I started filing out the application though

I received a Qual:146 and Quant:144 GRE score. Do you guys suggest submitting the score or just leaving it out?

Hi,

I suggest you leave it out. When I spoke to the admissions office, they advised putting GRE scores only if it improves the outlook of your application or if you score really high i.e. In the 70th percentile and above. If your gpa is good, you probably should skip it.

Is anyone applying for early decisions?

I think I am just to increase my chances, even if I lose the $500 deposit by going elsewhere In the end.

Hey everyone!

I just submitted my application and I am pretty nervous as Hopkins is my top choice. Is there a spot on NursingCAS that lists your overall GPA? I did a few classes besides my undergraduate degree and wonder how that is all calculated.

Congrats! I'm submitting mine today. I personally didn't see one. I only saw spots for listing the GPA you got at the institution.

I submitted mine about two days ago. So I think NursingCAS recalculates your gpa after verification. I do not know how that works. My undergrad is international so I had to do WES evaluation of my transcripts and that is what was uploaded by NursingCAS. However, on previous threads, people have complained about a drop in gpa after NursingCAS re-calculated.

Good luck to all but I'm quite nervous. The countdown begins!
