FALL 2020 Johns Hopkins MSN: Entry into Nursing

Updated:   Published

Hello everyone,

I'm currently preparing to apply to JHSON MSN: Entry into nursing program for fall 2020. I was wondering anyone has an idea what the acceptance criteria is?

I have a very good gpa in undergrad (3.92) so the admissions team told me I do not need to include GRE scores.

Also how many words should our essays be?

Best of Luck!

Did anyone get accepted today? Hoping since it’s a Sunday, they are waiting till Monday to send out the rest of acceptances! Fingers crossed

I created a Facebook group for everyone. That seems to be the trend with the previous cohorts.

Will be a pleasure meeting everyone! Best of luck to everyone who has yet to be accepted!

What's the link? Would love to join.

I just received the acceptance email a few minutes ago, so it looks like they’re still going. I almost gave up hoping (Friday to today has been an emotional rollercoaster to say the least!). My last name is near the end of the alphabet but I’m honestly not sure how they are deciding the batches! To anyone still waiting to hear, take heart that they’re still working through a list! I truly wish you all the best and I hope to see everyone on here this fall. Amazing group of supportive and kind future nurses.

I received an acceptance today and my last name begins with an A! So I think they’re coming out sort of randomly! Don’t look into it too much and good luck to everyone ?

Would you all mind saying what time your acceptance emails came today? I still haven’t heard

Hey everyone! Congrats to everyone who got in! And I am so sorry for those who haven't. I recently got rejections from two of my top choices, so I know how difficult it can be, but our journey does not end here!

I will be applying by the January 1st deadline, anyone else here that hasn't applied yet? I am hoping that applying for the priority deadline instead of the early deadline won't make it more difficult to get in but I am probably just overthinking it.

Question for those who have already submitted their applications... Since the essay responses are supposed to be "approximately" 300 words, do you think it is okay to be around 350?

Do y’all think they’ll release any decisions tm or later tonight?

I don't think they count the words. Mine were 343 and 309. So i think you should be fine.

Just don't make it too long

Thank you @OyinFutureRN! One last question, it states that we need 17-21 of prerequisite coursework. I have yet to take Human Growth and Development, which I am planning on taking next semester, but I already have 17 units completed. Does this mean I would not need to take Human Growth and Development since I've already completed 17?
