Is there a tutor or a mentor you can see? Perhaps meet with your instructor and explain what's going on.

I second meeting with your instructor. Ask to go over old exams with them, if they have any tips for absorbing the material better, and if they have any suggestions based on what has worked for their students in the past. You also may want to take a closer look at the way you're studying. I've found that especially with nursing classes, not every study method works for every class. Maybe ask around and see what's been working for your classmates, then try a new approach.

I have worked with online tutors having success understanding how to answer questions. I also used Kaplan and UWorld which enforce critical thinking skills. In addition, Saunders NCLEX review online is the better than the Saunders NCLEX review book. The books is okay, but the online version seems to be updated frequently.
From my experience through nursing school, the classes are more about critical thinking skills. Not memorizing material. Since most of academia is dependent on memorization in high school and college, it can be challenging to form critical thinking skills.
I would start with a tutor first. I have worked with tutors who have worked as nurses on units. They seem to provide very good lessons pulling from life work experiences.
Good luck! PM me if you need advice.

I recommend talking it over with your advisor and see what they say.
Maybe become friendly with some students you know are doing well, and study with them. I don't know your study habits, but if you're the type to pull all-nighters to cram before tests, don't do that. You'd be better off going to bed and waking up with a well-rested brain. Also, breathe. Do you do a lot of practice questions to help study for test? Do as many as you can find.
