i have failed the nclex-rn 5 times. as you can imagine, i do not have much confidence that i will pass the test after failing 5 times. i graduated in may 2008 and took the kaplan review course the week after graduation. after i did not pass my first time i got my money back from kaplan. i have many reivew books and people always tell me to just do questions, questions, questions. i just don't know anymore.
lately, i have become very frustrated working as a nurse aide. sometimes it makes me wonder if i still want to be a nurse... but i know there is nothing else i would rather do!
i have some ati review dvd's and books that i recieved from a co-worker. please give me any advice you have. any study ideas, study plan or anything will help! i am not the type of person to give up so i know with help, i can do this!

Practising questions, getting used to what the question is asking and how it is set out is important as is reading the rationales even if you get it right. I would recommend a short break from studying and DO NOT RUSH to resit your exam. Prepare properly and feel better prepared before you sit the exam

Whatever you do....don't give up !! I recommend you review the Random Fact Throwing.on this site....it has tons of information that is a must to review. Dedicate time to your study time and pretend it is your job !! For myself, yes ...doing questions over and over helped. Also, review the many threads on here regarding study tips...that is what I did and it helped !! Believe in your self and dedicate your study time. Determine your study style... quiet at the library? I also took my own notes....it was a lot of work....but looking back....I would do it all over again....Good Luck...I know you can do it !!!

NEVER GIVE UP you've come too far. Do you think it's test anxiety? Maybe you need a script from your DR? Ativan? Something I believe alot of people just have test anxiety. Good Luck! Study hard. I'm waiting to take my boards already LPN now waiting to take RN boards. :-)

How about trying live NCLEX review? If you cannot do live, some offer online courses. Try looking into Hurst NCLEX review. I have heard it's pretty good. It's basically like a refresher course maybe that'll work for you. Good luch studying...........DO NOT GIVE UP.............YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks everyone for the advice.

I haven't taken the nclex yet, however you should look into the Hurst Review it really helps with content and if you can't do a live review you can do it online. I also would recomend the saunders book if you don't have it. Kaplan offers a free practice test that will show your weak areas so I would do that and use it as a gage on what to focus on. Take it one day at a time and remember to pray because prayer does change things. You can do this nurse!!! people are counting on you to make a difference!! I will continue to keep you in my prayers and can't wait to hear your success story!
