265 and FAILED!!

Nursing Students NCLEX

I took the test yesterday morning with 265 questions:banghead: I just found out this morning that i FAILED. Besides feeling like a LOSER, i feel unsure on how to handle my second time around. I took the Kaplan live class. I did all the question trainers and all of the qbank. My grades were up and down. Everyday i did about 75-100 questions . I also reviewed the book i recieved with Kaplan. What in the world did i do wrong? I am unsure about what to do with Kaplan now. They told me that i have 2 options which are to either retake the Kaplan or get my money back. I plan to retake the test in 45 days. So what do you guys reccomend? I do feel that the Kaplan style questions were very similar to NCLEX questions. My plan is to take a break for a day or two and then hit the books and do questions again. If anyone has any good suggestions for the second time around i would appreciate it. I want the next time to be the last time.

:icon_hug: i am sorry to hear that you didn't pass that awful exam. i also have failed so i know what your going through. it is disappointing, but you have to get back up, and start fresh. take a break for several days, a week or 2 if you need to, then start preparing again. i would definately recommend suzanne's plan. there is a sticky at the top of the nclex forum page that gives all the details. i wish you the best and remember not everyone passes their 1st time. you can do this and we will succeed!! i wish you all the best! :)

I took 265?'s and passed I had a very hard time with test taking. I prayed and tried to stay as calm as possible. I used kaplans strategies and used the saunders cd for questions along with mosby cd for questions. I would do the quiz options and exams around 100 to 200 ?s

also do not give up. no weapon formed against you will prosper. You come too far to give up now just take it again and take your time and do something good for yourself.

dont feel too bad.. i had the same experience too, reached 265 questions and failed.. im planning to retake this coming september.. i was so devastated! i think what got you is your anxiety that made you distracted and out-of-focus.. rest for a while then start again.. concentrate on your weak points and sharpen strong ones..good luck :typing

Please consider Suzanne's Plan. i just took my nclex rn this month and passed using suzanne's plan only. Her plan is awesome and believe me once you get her second tip, you will realize how much sense it makes. i got 75 questions. i felt it was saunders all the way.:nuke:

hi there can you teach me how can i get that suzzanes plan..

thank you xx000o much..pretty pls....

im sorry to hear that take some time to freshen p and realx. you still have time. its not yet the end ok . im sure the next time you sit on that computer youll kill the CAT!!! gudluck

Thanx for all the encouragment. I will hit the books again this week and i will look into Suzannes plan. I have come too far to just give up.

i'm sorry to hear your news, but i think that you are already on your way with having a positive attitude and getting yourself ready for the challenge again. from this forum, i have heard a lot of people had success using suzanne's plan. the most important thing i think is to definitely look up the topics that you do not understand right away. do not procrastinate and say you'll look it up later. if the kaplan book did not have enough information since their review is brief and intended for review, try using saunders or an alternate source. please don't get discouraged!

believe in yourself and good luck. i hope to hear in around 45 days that you passed!

You can do it. I took the exam 0ne week ago, and I failed. I was very desappointed, and thank God I found that site with encouraging people. I thank all of you for your advice. By encouraging me to buy the Saunders, What I did, I fill full of oxygen. The Saunders Strategies for Success for the Nclex-RN is so good that it gave me more energy to restart again. I encourage you to buy it if you don't have it. After reading the stategies, I use them for answering questions, and it's work. That help you to answer questions that you don't know, and I hope that can help the day of the exam.

We can do it, let's do it.

pass or fail. we're still proud of you. the mere fact you stayed on course and you still have a positive attitude speaks volumes of your character.

it took us a thousand tumbles before we could walk as kids. i'm positively sure that your next exam with you using suzanne's plan will make you run faster than you can walk! good luck!
