Kinda feel like we were trolled considering OP hasn't responded yet. Kinda hard to rationalize how someone could fail that much time.

Look up failed 9 times and you will find the poster.

For those of us who have been on the forums for years, there are many people who will post and lurk in the background; that poster who failed 9 times went on to pass finally-Other posters couldn't believe it, but once the poster took constructive criticism, they passed. This poster also had trouble finding a job, but I think ended up getting one eventually-they haven't posted in about well over a year.

Your best bet would be to go through another LPN to RN program. You obviously didn't learn what you needed to know the first time...

Other than that... I would suggest quit taking the test and enjoy being an LPN.

If you are currently an LPN, continue that.

I would go back to nursing school, starting at the point just after getting your LPN.

I used to take Adderall for ADHD. Got off it, and started cardio and weightlifting. I could focus better, and the anxiety melted away.

What kind of anxiety. Is it social anxiety? Put yourself in the midst of people then. You need that experience. If you stay within your comfort zone you will be trapped by it, deprived.

If you're taking meds for test anxiety I would not go and try to pass the NCLEX, out of fear for your patients. If you can tolerate intense exercise, it will benefit you in more ways then you think.

It seems odd that they even allow someone to take the test that many times.

I can definitely see failing the first time. maybe even the next two times.

Once you start getting into your 4th and 5th time, it should be time to start considering new career options...

This may sound a bit harsh but if you can't meet the bare minimum after 10 attempts maybe it's not meant to be...

This isn't to speak ill of you but if you can't handle the pressures of an exam 10 separate times, the odds of you locking up if/when the **** hits the fan with a patient seems extremely high.

Update :I PASSED TOOK TEST ON SATURDAY(6-11-16) I MEAN GOD IS SO GOOD EVEN THOUGH I HAD HARD TIMES AND EVERY TIME I TOOK THE TEST I EITHER HAD A FAMILY MEMBER THAT PASSED DURING THE 10.5 YEARS I HAVE LOSS MY DAD, LOSS MY BROTHER, LOSS MY GRANDMOTHER, I SERVE A AWESOME GOD MY DAD SAID FIGHT AND WORK HARD. I AM ACLS CERTIFIED / EKG CERTIFIED. I USED HURST/SAUNDERS/LACHARITY Book.

Yes! Take it as many times as you have too!!!!! GEEZ!! People coming on here and saying that the op shouldnt take it again should be ashamed of themselves!!!!!!!

I took my LPN NCLEX 4 times before I passed. I took my RN NCLEX 2 times. NEVER EVER GIVE UP!!!!!!

I don't give a rat's testicle if you gotta take an exam 20 times. As long as they allow you to take it, you have/had every right to do so.

These people here didnt live your life. They don't know you. They don't know where you walked, or where you are going. I repeat: NEVER EVER GIVE UP. As long as there is life, there is a chance.

Forget about (the ones) telling you not to do something you set your heart to do.

By the way, Im glad you passed. Thank God. HE was always encouraging you, even if idiots like the people here on this thread didn't.

Congrats on finally passing! Now comes the next hurdle -- finding employment. Good luck. :]

Congratulations! Good luck in your career as an RN. Have you been working as an LPN all this time? Hopefully you will transition into the RN role seamlessly!

Should they? Let's think about it.

Live patients are not tests. You can take the NCLEX over and over until you pass it. You can kill a patient only once if the mistake allows it. Working in the field as a nurse with all of that responsibility is different than when you are in nursing school. When you make a mistake in the field with living, breathing patients you don't get ten do-overs.

That is legitimate cause for concern. Attempting to turn that concern for the patients into something negative is not doing the OP any favors.

Wait...your original post was on 6/11 asking if you should retest and you took the test and passed on 6/11? Why did you make it sound as if you were debating about testing and wanted advice where to turn for help when you were testing that day?

I give up trying to figure this one out.

We are the idiots because we care about patient safety due to a possibly incompetent RN? Thank the lord you will never be my nurse or anyone I care for.
