Anyone successfully challenge the boards?
Wait, so I can be a RT because I have a BSN degree and am an RN than right? I mean I learned about the respiratory system and have a health care degree.

Can traffic tickets prevent you from becoming a nurse?
I better call the FL BON about that expired meter ticket ASAP [emoji57]

EKG reading and leads
Hmm schools vary so much.... My school had three entire lectures on EKG's. What the leads are reading, how to interpret, proper interventions related to certain dysrhythmias etc. We also had a mock code in are sim labs where the patient would go through 3 different rhythms and we had to lead the code teams. We had two chances to pass the scenario. Fail it you fail the critical care course.

Failed nclex 10 times should i try again???????
We are the idiots because we care about patient safety due to a possibly incompetent RN? Thank the lord you will never be my nurse or anyone I care for.

Failed nclex 10 times should i try again???????
This may sound a bit harsh but if you can't meet the bare minimum after 10 attempts maybe it's not meant to be... This isn't to speak ill of you but if you can't handle the pressures of an exam 10 separate times, the odds of you locking up if/when the **** hits the fan with a patient seems extremely high.

UNF or Jacksonville University Fall 2016 regular BSN hopefuls
I am a JU alumni. You will learn a lot from the program. Bit of advice take Prof. Oakes when ever you can. To this day I can remember his stories when I am at work.

What does prototype drug mean?
It's the prototype of a medication. It's the blue print and first form of a drug that is used to make other and alternate forms of the drug.

Difficulty Levels of NCLEX
Your over analyzing and complicating the test beyond what is necessary OP. Do practice questions, refresh info you are uncomfortable with, and go in and take the test to the best of your ability.

Moral character
Lol people...

NCLEX, a perfect world?
It means think text book. Don't base your answers off of practices you saw in clinical. The test is not a trick if it states something take it at face value.

Passed NCLEX 1st try
Congratulations [emoji106]ðŸ¼

Can I still be a nurse?? Do still have a chance?
So many variables but most schools will look and see you retake a course and only did marginally better and not view it favorably (they don't care about why). As for wether you should retake them, yes. As dorky said though some schools will only calculate 1-2 attempts. Your going to have to do some poking around to get more specific answers. I can tell you that you will have a much easier time IMO getting in a 2 year CC vs a 4 year university program.

How fast did you land a job?
I had a job offer before I graduated. I did not work as a CNA I just happened to apply, jumped through the hurdles (there were many with Mayo) and was offered a position about a week before I was even pinned.

You asked for some research and I provided ten separate studies. Ignoring the research doesn't make it any less valid. As for "only having" an ASN you said it not I. You may be right though, that could be why your having a hard time... guess we will never know
