Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hey, I graduated nursing school last year and since then I have taken my exam 4 times (which my last was just June 7th). I didnt pass that one either. I have tried everything from hurst, kaplan, saunders, ati but im still not passing. I wanted to know does the NCSBN work? Im so frustrated with everything I want to give up on this nursing nclex thing maybe it wasn't meant to be for me.

I feel n know your pain I have not passed nclex I been out of school since 2005 now I working on my nerves as I panic alot but don't give up keep trying until u pass that what I'm gone do.

Failed the NCLEX last Friday. I think the worst is not to retake the test has much has waiting the 45 days.

Please do not give up, I know someone that took the RN NCLEX passed on the 5th time. Lol, he is more successful than his RN wife. Good LUCK!

That is so right, do not give up change or work on your test taking strategy.... Good luck.

I need help i just took my pn exam for the 3rd time this past friday and i.m really getting discouraged i don.t think it.s the knowledge part but more so how to answer the questions or understand exactly what the question is asking PLEASE!!!! Help i need answers and i don.t know where to go from here are there any specific books or suggestions

Could it be more of an anxiety thing and NOT a knowing the content thing? Like others have said, you passed nursing school and if you got to 265 you were close to passing. One of clinical instructors told us of a student who failed it 3 or 4 times due to anxiety and then asked her doctor for something to calm her down and she passed the next time!!!

Just look at ALL of the possibilities as to what is going on.

Good luck!!!

Dont be insane! I have worked with the some great nurses and they took the NCLEX several times.

You have been out of nursing school for a while but to those going to take it, I say this:

You have been in nursing school for 2-4 years. Don't waste your money on extra classes. Just read a NCLEx practice book once or twice and then take the NCLEX. Nursing loves taking your money. Don't let them.

And for you....do not read the question tooooo much. Read the question. read the choices and answer whatever answer comes first and move along. Dont worry if the one next to you leaves in 5 minutes, just keep going.

In nursing school there were people with 100+grades. When they hit the floor though they could not prioritize a dressing change to chest pain. Best of luck to you.

Thank you all for the words of encouragement!!

Don't give up. I was a registered nurse for over 5 years in the UK. I haven't practiced in over 2 years now as I had a controlling husband who said I would never be a nurse in the States (don't know why our education is very high) it really ruined my confidence. Anyway I took the NCLEX yesterday with all 265 questions and have the good pop up. Praying it is true. If it's not I am going to go through the entire application process for foreign nurses again. This won't beat me. I can tell you from experience that nursing is the most rewarding career ever and the best nurses are not usually the ones who are great on test questions it takes ALOT more to be a great nurse. Keep going!!!.

Don't give up so fast my friend. Perhaps, you need to develop good test-taking techniques. You might have ample of information but "reading into" the questions has been a downfall of many bright graduate nurses. The very fact that you have tried so many times proves that it is meant for you. I admire your tenacity. Have faith, take a deep breath, and take that plunge. You will succeed. Good luck.

Have you tried NOT studying? Maybe you are working yourself up.

I used the NCSBN 3 week study plan as well. I studied for my NCLEX like it was a full time job for a month straight. Questions, notes, questions, notes etc. I even downloaded apps to my iphone so when i wasn't at home and had downtime (waiting in line to buy something) I was answering questions. I started studying Jan 4th and took the exam Jan 31. I passed. It worked well for me. You just have to put the time and dedication into it. And really take note of the things you don't know and master them.
