  1. With the nursing shortage in America and the amount of unemployed nurses, I would say those companies delete applications like spam and shred paper applications to be made into toilet paper. Just my opinion.
  2. Dont be insane! I have worked with the some great nurses and they took the NCLEX several times. You have been out of nursing school for a while but to those going to take it, I say this: You have been in nursing school for 2-4 years. Don't waste your money on extra classes. Just read a NCLEx practice book once or twice and then take the NCLEX. Nursing loves taking your money. Don't let them. And for you....do not read the question tooooo much. Read the question. read the choices and answer whatever answer comes first and move along. Dont worry if the one next to you leaves in 5 minutes, just keep going. In nursing school there were people with 100+grades. When they hit the floor though they could not prioritize a dressing change to chest pain. Best of luck to you.
  3. "Now if you think that was tough, I need 12 blood pressures."
  4. "Wow! I am going back to doing chart reviews all day."
  5. Whew! It's all done. Now where's my 100 dollars?
  6. "But our facility just spent 500,000 dollars on a study that says this IS the best way to hold a stethoscope."
  7. I think the story is alot deeper than just a pain med.
  8. I had a physical therapist tell me all these problems with a resident and it was something that should have been called to the doctor. I asked the PT if she could call the doctor because she could explain it better and also because the information will get to the MD firsthand. She did call the doctor, that was great. But this almost never happens. Or PT wants to eval someone's walking ability and they come to me and say, "Ms. X wants to use the bathroom." If I were PT I would take them to the BR. Then PT wants to watch me take them to the BR! Hmmm, thats when I ask them to leave.
  9. Yes, and it is worse when nurses report on nurses. Meanwhile you wonder why the eye drops are never even opened or last forever. The rehab aide now thinks they know more than you. Too much knowledge just creates monsters.
  10. You and sally are one of those.....
  11. Thanks again to ALL CNA's. I was a CNA. I became a nurse because I was tired of all the lazy nurses. "Oh can you go in room 225 and empty the urinal." My Lord empty it yourself. I hope nurses all realize that the first semester of nursing school deals with being a CNA. Believe me I know everyone has things to get done but when a call bell is going off for 15 minutes and the nurse is documenting (which is important) she / he could get up and see what is going on. Maybe the call bell is going off because, "I need some ice." or maybe, "I am having a heart attack." Too many times I think nurses think call bells and such are not their "job". Well, I got news for you, it is. So don't go walking around the floor for 15 minutes looking for a CNA for something that you could have done yourself in 5. The end.
  12. She gave one Vicodin to a patient and now she is exercising her arms to document it in 6 different places.
  13. for international graduates it says. submit copy of license or diploma of the country you were educated in. there is no way to take nclex without a diploma or license from another country.i think you need a social security number also.
  14. go back to the philippines and get all the information. or take the boards there. that would be a lot alot cheaper than the tuition i paid here in the united states to go to nursing school.
  15. OH YEAH... i would watch my back with that one. and wasting? if zero is there then there is zero to waste. that nurse better show me something or else i aint wastin it. no way no how seen this one before. that nurse is takin the spotlight off herself. watch your back.
