Failed nclex in 75 questions. Take NCLEX tomorrow!!

Published

Hello all! I had originally taken the Nclex July 3 when I graduated that May and I had done kaplan questions getting 40-58% on Kaplan qbank tests and did some question trainers and got in the 50s. I went in there confident for some odd reason and took it and Walah! FAILED IN 75! Although I knew I was not ready I was still devastated to find out I failed. I got back into Kaplan and scored:

Q-bank: 62

Qt 1: 68

Qt 2: 60

Qt 3: 61

Qt 4: 53

Qt 5: 64

Qt 6:60

Qt 7:never took it

Readiness test 63

I take the test tomorrow and I have been so confident up to this point two days before the test. I feel like I am panicking and scared of failing again. My scores aren't great and my anxiety level is so high. Ahhhhhh pray for me people!

Thanks for the sweet messages guys. If it wasn't for this site I would go crazy (or drive my old

Classmates crazy) by talking them into me passing lol. But the truth is I got everything on the test from every body system and every alternate format question (tons of select all, cardiac strip, ordered response, about 5 math and pictures to identify what is what) ugh I will die if I don't pass

Specializes in cardiac.

gud luck! will pray for u

Please let us know I feel your pain. LOL

Honestly it sounds like you failed. If you passed it is by the skin of your teeth.

Everyone I know that passes was in the minimum questions, not 265. I don't think I could sit through 265 questions...

Why didn't you pay for instant results?

People do pass with 265. Keep your head up pass or fail, many people need to take the exam more than once or even more than 3 times.

A friend of mine who just took it was told by the examiner that how many questions you get is random for everyone how many you get doesn't determine if you pass or fail. She got 85 and passed and so did another one of my friends, and another got the whole 265 and passed as well. Just do the trick and keep checking the boards site to see if your name comes up. Good luck.

I'm too scared to do it... Do any of you know what doing 265 questions mean???

When I did mine, I had a little over 200 questions and did not feel good at all when I walked out. The person working checking people in and out asked how I thought I did and I told him not well. He said he's seen people flunk in 75 and pass with 265, so don't let the number of questions that you got make you think that it means anything. I did pass and have never forgotten what he said! So you know that it IS possible to fail with 75, fingers crossed that you passed with 265!

The amount of questions does indeed make a difference, and no, it's not random (at least according to every piece of literature I've been reading it isn't). However! Like you said, lots of people pass with 265 questions. All it means is that the computer needs more information from you to ensure that you're competent and minimally safe. For some that takes 75 questions, for others 265.

I'm anxiously awaiting what happened!

I also failed the first time in 75 questions - I went way, way too fast. I am currently studying up for the second attempt in four more weeks...... good luck to you, can't wait to see how it turns out!

Have you done the Pearson Vue Trick, they have a youtube video on how to do it. I'm sure you passed, if you had 265 questions is because the NCLEX had faith in you and let you made up others that you got wrong.

Good luck!!!

It means that you had 265 questions. Seriously, that's ALL it means.

People have passed with 265, and people have failed with 265. Hopefully you will be one of the ones who have passed.

I PASSED! Sorry that I didn't write you guys earlier! I must say that I am the happiest person EVER! I know what it is like to fail and i know what it is like to now pass. There is nothing that could prepare you for those last 25 questions in my opinion. They were so hard. But its all about making the best decision and priority! Thanks for all the encouragement! I moved to NYC from south FL the day after my test basically banking that I passed. I finally did and now starts the process of job hunting! For those of you who have no taken the test…TAKE YOUR TIME! I know that when I do practice tests, I usually get foggy around 40 questions. I made sure that every 40 questions I got up and took a break. I brought brain food (banana, chicken sandwich, protein bar..NO SUGAR!) If you catch yourself not focusing 100% then take a step back and reorient yourself! You will all do great! If I can do it then you guys can too! Good luck and thank you to all!
