Evil Doctors

Almost ALL the nurses I have met are wonderful people and are more than nice to their patients. But, in my limited experience, it seems that doctors, at best, are indifferent to their patients and satanists to their nurses.

Do they rest of you find this generalization to be mostly true?

most of the doctors that i have know or worked with are verying caring about their patients and have respect for the nurses

everyone has a bad day and sometimes will be frustrated when they find that an order has slipped through the cracks and they tend to blame the nurse telling them about the order not carried out even if it is not their fault

i have see doctors who i wouldn't trust to treat a loved one but this in not true of the majority

Not at all in my very limited experience. I haven't met any "evil" physicians. I have met a couple "evil" nurses, though. (Evil=passive aggressive catty nutjobs)

I was going to respond, but then I realized I just didn't care enough to write anything.

Plus I have to slaughter this goat before I can call on the dark lord to curse the souls of the the ER nurses.

No, I don't find this to be true. Not saying that you've had your share of indifferent docs though.

No, I've found the vast majority of doctors that I've worked with to care a lot about their patients-- if they didn't, there's no way I would have gone into medicine. Likewise, I've found that the vast majority of nurses care a lot about their patients.

I've run into both doctors and nurses who scare the living daylights out of me.-- that's life. So to the OP, stop trying to stir the pot.

The doctors I work with are amazing and are certainly not evil in anyway. They're certainly very polite to nurses.

It might be a cultural thing, in NZL if you're a doctor and you **** off the nurses you don't last very long and you get nothing done for you.

no dont find it to be true, we have got the one or two. But as one of the op's said if admin. allows it then it will be that way. Most of the nurse won't put up with it, they call the doctor on it.

I nearly fell of the chair just then reading that comment about 'satanic doctors'. I now have this mental image of the crusty old surgical consultants meeting together to perform dark rituals in the hospital basement, sort of reminds me of that tv show The Kingdom....

These words are too strong...why doctor must always be referred to as "Satan" or "doctor".One extreme to another. How about middle ground-a human with high level of intelligence, who mostly save lives, sometimes screws them up.

I think the term evil is a little too harsh. However, I've seen both. One doctor wouldn't listen to my concerns about a patient until I got him a cup of coffee... I won't tell you my response to that. Another time I had a doctor argue with me about a patient's complaint of cough when one of her admitting diagnoses was cough.(He actually had the nerve to tell me the patient never said anything about a cough, when she specifically said, I've been telling him for two days now) Other times I've had doctor's ask my opinion and are proactive in the care of their patients. I keep my own list of who will not treat me if I ever get admitted to the hospital and it's simply from experience.

Most doctors I know are caring. However, what I do find is common,,,, there are doctors that are from the middle east who were raised in a culture that women were 'below' men. These doctors won't even look at women, won't talk to them, ,, in my unit there are two in particular that make rounds. They will sit around and BS with the male nurses, but when it comes to me asking them a question, they won't even look at me and answer it. Sometimes it is so bad that I ask a male nurse in the unit to talk to the doctor and ask him questions for me.

Well take this for what it is worth. Have you ever gone to a private expensive school or know someone who has? You will find some children, who from an early age are groomed by their narcissistic parents to become doctors. Doctors who specialize because that is where the money and prestige is at.

Some of these lovely children are entitled. Their feelings are of the utmost importance, they are taught to value winning, money, power, and believe they are God like. Some of these children DO become the doctors that mommy and daddy groomed them to be.

Altruism is not valued by these special doctors. There are those children who grow up normal (i.e not with sociopathic tendencies) and choose to become doctors due to their love of science, an interest in anatomy, disease processes, medicine or surgery in general. These doctors may be able to relate to the common folk and common workers such as nurses like myself.

I have lived this life with these people. Some I call my family, so this is gleaned from experience and not speculation.

Just my thoughts.....as usual.
