Hey Cool People in Pink !!
Everyone must be really busy with the start up of the new school year. This group has been way to quiet ! LOL !
Hope all is well with everyone

I have been super busy today- kids punching things they shouldn't and banging their heads against lockers in frustration and concussing themselves (IMHO- I'm sure the doctor will confirm my suspicions). I blame it all on the upcoming full moon.
When I worked in the ER it wasn't the full moon days that were busy- it was the week leading up to the full moon that was crazy. And we got a full moon coming on Saturday, which did not surprise me at all when I checked my calendar.

I'm having a hard week at work and with some personal stuff. But I'm plugging along!

Amen Kidz. I think you nailed it for a lot us. Thankfully, me personally, all is well. Some very close to me... trying to hold some together... For starters.. my daughter coaches softball, is 36 weeks pregnant, and was ready for softball to be over with last week! This Granny is ready too!
Screenings have kept me hopping this week. But, I am getting them nicely under control.
Hang tough all my School Nurse friends. This Too Shall Pass.

All will be well here also. I'm stressed between work and home (single mom, 3 kids), taking graduate classes, and the big thing that's occupying my mind this week is that my mom has sold her house. My dad passed a little over a year ago and I'm feeling nostalgic for the home they had for the last 25 years (married almost 40). The last time I saw my dad he was waving goodbye to me from that porch.
Oh my goodness Kidz. I am so sorry. I wish I could hug you right now. I have been there myself. Yes, so incredibly hard You sound like one really tough mama. Deeep breaths. I will keep you in my prayers and think extra happy thoughts for you.
Thank you

I got pulled over to our other school building today. The nurse there was out, no sub, and the vomiting kiddos just kept coming. No one knew how to triage. I had to close my own busy office with no sub (because coverage mid day - ha!) and head over. We had a recent meningitis diagnosis (viral) with a kiddo as well, so traffic to both offices has been way up.
And I, like many of you, have had outside work stress. The full moon must definitely be coming...

So busy here!! And we have so many emotionally needy students that are running me and my counselors ragged this year.
And some whackadoodle parents that we are just constantly having to put out fires with.

My office has been crazy busy, mostly with completely ridiculous stuff. Such as, 11 kids from 4th grade because they were coughing, not sick, not feeling yucky, just coughing and annoying the teacher. Seriously? You've been doing this for 15+ years. Quite a few back and forth calls with parents over stuff that I shouldn't have to tell them is a problem(yes vomiting and headaches after a concussion are a problem, please have your kid reevaluated and pick them up from school now! yes, swelling and pain could very well mean that her wrist is broken, please take her to the doctor, no, I can't tell if it's broken for sure and no, I can't just wrap it up for you! No, the receipt from your child's doctor visit is not the same thing a physical exam form, not even close!)
And on top of it, I'm a few weeks pregnant(YAY!)and super tired.
