Ethel Bauer School of Nursing Phoenix

Published

Hello,

I am 27 years old and thinking of switching careers to nursing. There is a new nursing school in Phoenix that opened last year. The cost of the whole program is about 26k but there is no waiting list. The student graduates with an AA. Has anyone heard of this school? Can someonne tell me something about this school and their program? I was told that University of Phoenix and Grand Canyon University does credit their courses if decided to go for BSN.

Specializes in ER, Forensic.

I am in my 4th semester at Ethel Bauer and yes, its hard, yes it is expensive. But the way I look at it, I am getting through it and I feel alot of the things I have learned have helped me alot in the feild. As far as accredidation, I can transfer to an online university which is all I will have time for after I graduate.

Specializes in ICU, Tele. M/S.

I guess I got a reply from a messege that I had posted WAY back about Ethel Bauer. Congrats that you are in your 4th block....hope things go great and I wish you the best of luck.......

Natyrallyred!

Specializes in Pediatrics, L&D.

Edited because my views have changed.

Hi!

Our oldest daughter might be starting at Ethel Bauer and I was just wondering what the typical schedule is like? We have heard some conflicting info on clincals. She just started her first pre-req.

Thank you!!

Im so glad I decided NOT to go there!!!

i was one of 24 people who started in the very first class of this school. in the beginning there where 24 people, of those 24 people only 7 or 8 actually graduated the rest of the graduates where people that transferred in during the proceeding semesters.

what’s does that tell you about this school?

it tells me that it has a poor success rate, from start to finish, unless you are an lpn trying to be an rn i would steer clear of this school.

i have nothing but total disappointment and disgust for this institution.

another thing i found out the hard way is: the credits you earn their are not transferable to asu or another community college so if you start their program you must complete it.

I have gone back and forth on my decision to go to this school or not. Gateway is very close to me but I will have to start all the bio's starting at Bio 156 : ( so its about 5 classes more than just 1 I will need to start at IIA. I also know some people who have graduated form there and have no problems in thier " real world" nursing jobs.

Can anyone give me any expereinces youve had with the child care site there?

If oyu get full financial grants does that cover all the costs?

Also, I understand that some Hospitals don't take new grads into specialty areas such as L&D etc. and some do. If I go to EBSN can I still get certified to a specailty such as L&D? I've been told that Hospitals don't care were you go to school just that you have passed and are an RN lol just wondered if it made a difference.

Our oldest daughter is taking her prereqs for EB and heard a rumor that one must now be a CNA to be accepted into the program. Has anybody else heard that or can anybody verify it to be factual? Thanks!

I have not heard anyhting like that, but I'm not going there just yet and keep myself as updated as I can be.;)

I was in the first graduating class, and it is not hard to find a job at all. One of my best friends who was in the program is working and phoenix childrens at the nicu. the school isn't bad, plus they are getting a new director, so maybe things will get better as far as test scores go.

As far as I know the CNA is included in the program

Have any of oyu taken any of thier pre reqs there? I need a chem pre req left for thier program and I was wondering how it went for others? How much work nightly? How big was oyur class? and so on...thanks!
