That's exactly what I needed to read right now. I am a single Mother as well, working on my CNA. I will be traveling down a very similar path as you have. So this was inspiring & motivational for me, thanks! I am in Az as well & plan on applying to the same LPN/FT porgram. I currently live in Maricopa. A little ways from Gateway but doing my CNA through CAC Superstition Mtn. campus just because they offer a saturday course :) I'm beginning my baby steps. Again, thank you for sharing!

This is a hard one because this is too general a subject. MA job availability differ by city. School's are all different, tuition is all different....it ALL depends on area. CNA is a pre req for the RN programs where I'm from so if I choose to do that I have to take a CNA course..period. I think it depends more on your long term goal. If MA is right for you-do it. If CNA is a baby step or where you want to stop-do it. I'm sure most CNA's won't admit to not liking thier job to reflect thier choice was a good one. If they indeed feel that way. I really think this is different for eveyone. Although I must admit eveything in the original post is everything I worry about being a CNA! And everything I've heard from CNA's working at a LTC Hospital. Maybe if you could find some sort of job shadowing or take a lower paying job in an LTC Hospital (activities, etc.)to see what they do daily. Interview a few, say it's for School & go with a bunch of questions. Just a thought.

pjb63, How were able to finish pre req's so quickly? Did you take the standard courses (Bio 156/general Chem etc.) in H.S & just need the College's pre req's?

Does RSAA offer financial aid?

I am checking them out right now. I've heard good & bad so I'm looking into graduation stat's etc. I'm in Maricopa, Az. so anywhere I go will be a drive. CAC & Gateway are the same distance just FYI lol. Thanks for the req.!

Why is it that every time I try to call a college they can never answer my "do you have a Sat. program" question-UGH! Please list any programs you know of that are F-Su. I would immensely appreciate it! I am still calling around & will add all info. I get.

That's awesome. Thinking of them before their accidents is what got me through so much working in hospitals.

How long is the contract that you sign with Banner after graduation?

Any have any experience with this school? I left a message for them for more info. since the web site doesn't offer much. Is it just for High schoolers? Where is it located?

I was unaware that they provided medical insurance through this program. Or did I misunderstand & this is through your job?

I had an awful experience with Bio online at Rio. I will take all my classes 'in class'.

What a wonderful story! I am just now beginning to research nursing. After staying home to raise my kids (youngest can start pre school in Feb.) I will most likely be surrounded by H.S'ers getting their CNA etc. but reading this makes me feel better about it & my choices.

I wish they would make their school site easier for prospective students. I had to google their stuff after not finding it on their home page. I haven't started anything yet, just research since CAC is the closet school to me. Just wanted to throw my 2 cents in lol
