Emory Summer 2014 ABSN/MSN

Hello Rhapsoidie, Sonata32, HCE2014, and gabookworm,

i just joined AllNurses and I am also looking to apply to the Emory ABSN/MSN program. But not this year. Hopefully I can continue to connect with all of you and learn the ins and outs of Emory's Nursing program along the way.

So, someone asked for stats and I'll be happy to give mine. I got accepted to the FNP group. I also got accepted to UAB. I'm waiting to hear back from Vanderbilt and Boston in February.

STATS: 157 Verbal, 159 Quantitative, 4.5 Writing

Undergrad: 3.25 GPA, BS in Biology

Pre-Req's: Completed, 4.0 GPA

Current Job: Research Assistant at Vanderbilt University (3 years)

Submitted the application end of November (don't remember the exact day)

I'm so sorry to hear how many people they haven't gotten through. I hope they do soon! The wait is the worst part! Good luck to all of you still waiting.

For all those that have been accepted, are you going to Student Day?

I was accepted to the CNM/FNP. GRE: 167V, 160Q, 5W. GPA: 3.77 (including graduate coursework). 3.8 in pre-reqs, which are complete. I have a previous MA and PhD (all but dissertation) in a totally unrelated, non-science field, and I've been a birth professional for almost eight years.

No have you? Hoping sometime today. I know they sent out a lot of rejections at the end of last week- so at least we didnt get one of those.

I just got a letter dated Jan 17th about pre-reqs... Makes me so angry how behind they are.

HCE2014 -- At least we know they are still reviewing the applications. However, it still does make me upset.

HCE2014---- Did they update your to do list with the pre reqs that you still need? I have nothing on my to do list so I am assuming they have all that, but I think it is weird that we have not heard anything yet. I know they said it would be a couple of weeks possibly.. But this is hard. Fingers crossed we all hear tomorrow and get good news!!!

Yeah it got put on my to do list a day before the 15th decision deadline. I forwarded a few syllabi and they told me everything would be considered complete but it still has not been taken off my to-do list. Overall, I understand that Emory has to deal with a large increase of applications, but you'd think a great program would have better communication and organization. Truthfully the only part that still frustrates me is that we received an email the day AFTER the deadline saying they needed more time. The fact that I JUST got a pre-req letter indicates to me that in the days leading up to the 15th they were no where close to having decisions complete. I wish they would have communicated that with us.

Either way, I'm looking forward to a decision and I hope they take their time reviewing the last batch of applicants. Thank you to those that posted stats, it really is helpful and congrats to those that got admitted!
