Emory Fall 2015 Applicants

So the application for the Fall 2015 BSN traditional/ ABSN/MSN has just opened up. I thought it may be nice to start a thread so any of the applicants can check on each others processes and get to know one another..

Has anyone heard anything about the second BSN program?

Hello! I'm in for the ABSN/MSN FNP program but I'm not able to make it to the admitted students' day since I'm on the west coast. For those of you who are going, I'd live to hear your thought and impressions!

@Dedicated100. Are you applying for ABSN or second degree BSN? I believe that second degree BSN is not accelerated. as for ABSN only, the cohort starts fall, while the ABSN/MSN cohort starts summer. The priority deadline for ABSN was 1/15, while the ABSN/MSN was 12/1; I believe we hear on different dates. I believe we'll be hearing by March.

ABSN + MSN starts May 18th for whoever was asking earlier. I graduate from UGA on May 8th and if I go to Emory, I would start 10 days later . So much for a summer lol

I'm applying for BSN 2nd degree as well! Haven't heard anything yet, but we should be hearing back soon right? :-) I'm so nervous!!!

Hey does anyone live near Atlanta already or in Atlanta? Does anyone have a sense of what the area is like? I had a friend who told me her friend went to Emory for undergrad but she says they're racist down there and it's very different from the rest of the United States? I'm from California by the way.

I know an Asian guy living in Georgia. I can ask him about racism if you want.

I asked him if Atlanta is racist against Asians, and he says "Not super [racist]. Just topical at times"

Not sure what that means. I'm from California too and have only lived in a predominantly Asian environment my entire life so I have no idea what racism is actually like

Yeah my friend told me they're racist against blacks because I guess a lot of whites down there are conservative and very rooted in their old values. But I feel like it shouldn't be too bad because Atlanta is a big city with probably a diversity of people. I'm also Asian! I'm going to potentially visit Columbia's open house and might as well visit Emory too if I do! :)
