Has anyone else applied for Emory’s Distance- Accelerated BSN for Spring 2021?
I submitted my application and materials prior to the priority deadline. Waiting to hear back on Nov. 13th. Fingers crossed!

@nevertoolate2021 Hi, just want to say that if your hometown is different from asquared20, then you may need to ask Emory about your city as well.
Just now, nevertoolate2021 said:great point- I did just hear back from Emory and they said they do not have the ability for clinical placements in Texas at this point and probably won't before 2022- just an FYI to anyone else. Thanks!
wow! I am surprised. I think its a great program but I am not sure if Emory has opportunities for clinical placements in most places.
So, all of Texas is out?

"At this time, we do not have clinical placement ability in the state of Texas. We are working to establish the ability to place there, but it is unlikely that will happen before 2022."
The Emory distance program has great reviews, but since it's not available for you....what other programs are you considering?? I live in FL but I applied for their in person/on campus Master of Nursing program...awaiting that decision.

those are great schools. Good luck to you! You may enjoy the in person more....and with COVID a lot of schools are doing online where they can and in person for everything else.
I applied to Emory on 12/10 and received a phone call today about clinical placement as I am applying from Oregon. The person I spoke with was very transparent about the process. He mentioned there are states where Emory has not been successful in establishing clinical placements and noted Oregon, Texas, California, and Nevada specifically to me. For Oregon, it seems like the school must petition with the state for authorization from the state board of nursing. Hope this helps!
Yes- interesting- thanks! They did not say a thing about petitioning the state of Texas for whatever that's worth!
@asquared20 are you applying to other Texas schools?
