Has anyone else applied for Emory’s Distance- Accelerated BSN for Spring 2021?

I submitted my application and materials prior to the priority deadline. Waiting to hear back on Nov. 13th. Fingers crossed!

I'm so happy for you. Still haven't received any admissions decisions yet... I applied on December 2nd... although I didn't submit a personal statement yet I am just about to.

Congratulations! I am happy for you. Hopefully we are in the same cohort! I applied on December 2nd, did you also apply around then? I was expecting to hear a decision in March but I'm happy to hear that you heard it earlier. Do you mind sharing any information that might help me to strengthen my application?

Thank you so much! Remind me.....you wanted to start in Spring right???  The day is still young and they normally release the decisions up until the end of the day. Fingers crossed for you. By the way, what's your home state??

Congrats!! So happy you got accepted!
Are you starting in Summer 21?

That's the plan, though I am still waiting on the other schools I applied to (mostly OHSU). I won't hear until March, but I'm VERY impressed with the admissions process of Emory.

Thanks! I applied December 10th. They reached out to me on Jan 7th and I received admissions Jan 14th. I was also not expecting to hear until March! I'm not sure what could strengthen your particular application, though a personal statement can't hurt. They told me my strong academic record was a big part of my admittance. Hope this is helpful!

My home state is New Jersey! I also didn’t submit my personal statement yet so that might be it ? And my transcripts and degree are still processing so who knows what’s going on. I applied for the March 12th notification though since I just missed the December 1st deadline by one day ? So we shall see!

@wildepanda do you mind sharing your stats? GPA etc?

Are you applying for financial aid? I wasn't aware the May cohort had to also fill out a 20-21 FAFSA along with the 21-22. The degree conferral may be holding it up. I had numerous unofficial transcripts to send and a degree conferral from long ago bc I'm old haha. Fingers crossed and sending good stuff out into the universe!

Yeah they are working on it....absolutely.....while they are doing that....go ahead and submit your personal statement. It's a just in case. It will add some color to your application.

Sure - Overall GPA is 3.65, Prereq GPA 3.77 (that B in chem really got me ?)

No healthcare experience, my resume consists of all high end restaurant management and serving experience. Prior bachelor's degree in finance. Not sure what other stats I could share but feel free to ask ?

@wildepanda that’s awesome and you have a lot of experience as well. Thanks for sharing! I spoke to someone earlier this week over the phone about possibly doing clinical placement in another state and he said it shouldn’t be a problem. So hopefully I find out a decision soon.

Fingers crossed for you and best of luck! Are you in Texas? Where are you hoping to do clinicals?

I have quite the tumultuous transcript. Hopefully we hear back soon!

@wildepanda Thank you! Yes I’m currently in Texas and hoping to do clinicals in MA or the DMV area.

any word? There's an admitted students day on January 30th with very few D-ABSN students. Curious how many there currently are in the cohort and if @asquared20 and @jcnurse2b have heard anything.
