Emory applicant for 2011

Greetings everyone:

I just sent in my application for Emory University for next year. I was wondering if anyone else has applied or are planning to apply. Currently, I am taking classes at GPC. I would love to start a little support group. If anyone is a student at Emory and would like to offer some advice it would be much appreciated too. Good luck everyone!

OMG! I got accepted. I'm actually weeping right now. I checked this morning and there was no decision. All those who are waiting for tomorrow should check now! I just checked out of curiosity.

@hereicome: Congratulations!!! So happy for you. You made my heart race a million beats per second when you posted that response. I checked my Opus, however, and still nothing. I hope they didn't decide to post acceptances today and rejections tomorrow :-/ I guess I will have to continue the wait and see.

Last year, they also sent a letter of acceptance in the mail, in addition of posting it on Opus. So watch out! :-)

Oh my gosh! Me, too. I immediately checked OPUS, but nothing for me yet. :crying2: I did write them an email today, so hopefully I'll have an idea of when I will have an answer soon. I'm dying!!

@hereicome- do you mind sharing what are your stats like? ie GPA, volunteer experience, do you already have a BA?

I must say God is on my side. Yes I have a BA, but I had just 2.9 in my first degree and 3.83 in my prereqs. I volunteered for three months 7yrs ago. That's all for me. APart of my voluntary service, I have no health care experience. I do really Want to get into the nursing field coz of some personal reasons and Emory has always been my first choice. I told them all about my plans in my essay and I'm sure my teachers gave me a good recommendation. That is the only school I have applied to, so I'm so excited. I was so scared bec averaging my Gpa should give me just about 3.0

i have 2 items in to-do list , one for fafsa. But the other i don't understand.. what is STUDENT 2010 TAX RETURN.

i did one ccs and going to finish my fafsa, but what that student 2010 tax return?

anyone know?

It's your actual taxes for 2010. If you haven't filed your taxes for 2010 then most of, if not all your information for FAFSA and CSS were projections based on 2009 information and guesses for 2010. That is why it asks you if you have filed your taxes and what type of form you used or plan to use. I believe they need to know if you filed your taxes so they can have verification of actual numbers and so you don't lie on the forms. Hope this helps. Maybe someone else can add some information.

Mavejoy: you send them a copy of your tax returns. (or I guess your parent's tax returns if you're a dependent.)

Thanx alot karczyn and claudia. i'm gonna to do that coz i've filed my taxes 4 2010 but the lady who did it for me said she hasn't submitted it. i'll go ahead and do my fafsa then mayb send em my taxes papers.
