Emory absn 2017

Published

Hi everyone!

I figured I would start a thread for the upcoming application cycle for Emory's ABSN program. I am excited to get everything in and apply, I am just waiting to take my TEAS.

Anyone heard anything?

No. I actually emailed them to see if they had rejected my application as incomplete or something. I am not even sure if they waimed my GRE yet or anything. Still a red check mark.

Yeah it just seems strange that a whole chunk of people heard about acceptances and then nothing for weeks. They did say 1-2 weeks, 2 weeks ago (to the day). I can't decide how inpatient I should be ha.

I emailed them on 12/6 regarding if they were sending out anymore decisions. This was their reply:

"Thank you for contacting Emory School of Nursing!

Our admission committee is hoping to release more decisions within the next couple of weeks, but the latest you would hear back is January 15th. I hope this answers your question and have a good day! "

Thanks for providing us with that!

To the person who asked about deferment, I have the option to defer my acceptance within OPUS but I am not sure how the process actually works.

Also, financial aid packages should be going out! I received mine (:

For those of you still waiting, I emailed Emory last week about the status of acceptances. Here is what I received as a response :

"According to our records, your application is still under the review process. We have also waived your scores. We had a high volume of applications within this first cycle of admission, so we are still sending out notifications on a weekly basis. Please continue to check your email and status page for more updates. "

So at least my GRE got waived and it sounds like at this point it could be any day, minus the Christmas holiday of course.

Hi! Did you receive the notification via email? I'm still waiting to hear back about mine. :(

anyone received any merit or need-based aid yet?

I received grant money but no merit aid! And yes an email came through about the aid but I am also a graduate student at emory right now so I check my opus somewhat frequently and saw it in there. I still have to make an appointment with financial aid to discuss why they offered work study aid when I don't think we will have time in our schedule for work!

Also my per semester aid only covers half of the cost of one semester of tuition and I think we have to split that year of tuition to also cover summer tuition which means a lot of money will have to come out of pocket, which I already anticipated. Coming from a grad program right now the lack of loan aid for a second bachelors is definitely a drag!

i totally can related. i already have loans, don't fancy getting more loans. i'm an emory alum, so i really want to go back to familiar grounds. i don't think emory was this slow in getting things done in the past? i submitted my application in august, and even though i'm "unofficially" accepted because of my alum status, i need to be officially accepted before i can see my financial aid. it just amazes me how i still haven't heard anything back yet. was the half-tuition aid you received grant money, or in federal loans?
