  1. Hello, all! I deferred my acceptance to the Fall of 2018, so one of you will hopefully be getting my spot for Fall 2017! Good luck to everyone still waiting to hear back!
  2. Mgates, that's awesome that you've already heard from other programs! Knowing myself, I would do what's most financially feasible. But I guess we won't know until we hear back about merit-based aid, and then we can take it from there. I'm surprised that you can't bring guests. That seems odd to me! I was going to bring my mom, too, if I went. Keep me posted on what your plan is! At least we know we aren't alone in this situation. I just hope I get into other schools now.. haha. Best of luck with the merit-based aid stuff!
  3. Same here. I got a small grant, as well, and a really tiny loan (to the point where it's really insignificant to the cost of the program), and so I'm really hoping merit-based aid pulls through, too. I'm still waiting to hear back from other programs and my guess is I won't know about merit-based aid until later for those, as well, so it's all kind of up in the air! I don't know if I'll be making it to student admit day, though, because I'll be coming from the Milwaukee area and have a lot of hurdles like work to get through in order for that to happen. I was hoping we'd know about merit-based decisions by now so I could plan accordingly. Will you still be going regardless of the loan you have to take out? Mine would be around $70k, and that just seems impractical to me at this point.
  4. Hey everyone! When you say financial aid package, are you including any merit-based aid, as well? I received my financial aid package awhile ago, but it covers nearly nothing! (I haven't heard back about merit-based aid, though). With that, I feel like I really cannot afford the program and don't want to take out that big of a private loan. Anyone else in the same boat?
  5. Congrats to all of those accepted! Did you just hear by email, or is there a website online where we can view our application status? Thanks!
  6. Hey mgates, I reached out to them because I really wanted to know before student admit day since I'll have to travel and miss class/work for it, but they said it could be that we don't find out until February.. So, we will see what happens I suppose. Have to practice patience.. lol. Easier said than done! Let me know if you hear anything.
  7. Hi! Did you receive the notification via email? I'm still waiting to hear back about mine.
  8. Mgates4, I still have not heard anything. I've been checking OPUS, though, and have seen that my "pay admission's deposit" link has gone away... I'm not sure why this is, but am assuming it's a glitch in the system. It's still making me nervous!! Has this happened for anyone else? Hope we hear back about financial aid packages, soon!
  9. I'm in the same boat as you guys! They've received all of my information, but I haven't gotten notification on what my award package will be, yet. I'm hoping it is soon, as well, so I can decide whether or not I should put my deposit down! The price for tuition is so high. I'm really hoping to hear good news!
  10. Hi Eacor! Would you mind providing the link to the Facebook page? I can't locate it when searching it. Thanks!
  11. Yeah, I definitely am. I'm going to try working with financial aid to see what types of aid I can be offered. It's a pricey program, but a common pricetag to see with any ABSN program at any private school, regardless of location. :/
  12. Wow, you have both been so helpful. Thank you both entirely for answering these questions!!
  13. Great! Thank you so much for that clarifying response!! :) Do you know where I can find requirements for different states BON? Also, once you take the NCLEX, do you just have to renew your license and that's it? What if you move to another state? Thanks again!
  14. Hello! I'm going to be participating in an ABSN program next year, and before I pick which school I wish to attend out of the ones I have been admitted to, I was just wondering whether or not the NCLEX is state specific? In other words, does the state you take the NCLEX in determine what state you can be a nurse in? In that same regard, I am also wondering if the state of the school you get your BSN in is the state you need to take the NCLEX in? I'm new to this, so any advice or previous experience to help enlighten me would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance!! :)
  15. I did not. I don't think it's critical in the admissions process. But it probably wouldn't hurt to do it, either!
