Emory ABSN/MSN 2016 Program

Published

Hi everyone,

I thought I would get a thread started for the Emory ABSN/MSN 2016 application cycle. I am going to the information session next Friday, July 24th for the program.

Has anyone else started to get ready for this application cycle?

We haven't been given a total cost of attendance, as the prices vary slightly from semester to semester. But the first summer semester came in right at $27,500. The fall and spring semesters I would assume to be a few thousand more than that.

I thought that tuition is $21,000 per semester, and there are 8 semesters total (4 BSN, 4 MSN, unless you're doing dual specialty) so total tuition for the entire program is $168,000. Could someone confirm that? I heard the BSN and MSN tuition is the exact same.

The number I gave was the total cost of attendance for this summer. The tuition cost is included in that, as well as living expenses, books and supplies, and fees. And you're correct, the tuition is the same for the BSN and MSN portion.

That is a really big number. PA school and even most medical schools would be much, much cheaper. That's big time debt.

has anyone heard anything today?

I didn't hear anything :( still so anxious! Maybe it will be sometime by March 15th? Anyone have any insight to when those of us not on the waitlist might hear something?

jtsmivdo I misunderstood the Emory website as to saying all applicants would know something by March 1. I didn't hear anything today so it's confirmed I didn't understand! I hope it's sooner rather than later

I got in last Friday, but the cost is hard to cope with.

I applied for the FNP program by the January 30th deadline, called to verify that my application was complete after and was told they would have a decision in a few weeks. Still haven't heard anything. No acceptance, denial,or wait list. I too thought decisions were released on March 1, but maybe that was for the people that applied by December 15.

Wow.... $168k for the whole program? I'm emailing an admissions director just to triple check this number. I'm on the wait list but if this is the cost then I won't be accepting either way!! That's way too much money when there's so many other great/cheaper options out there. That's one of the highest tuition rates I've seen for this type of program.

Hey everyone I heard back today and I have been waitlisted! Don't know what their percentage is on acceptance from the waitlist if anyone knows please share! I'm glad it wasn't a no but I don't know if anyone has been denied either...

I heard back yesterday as well... I had been on the waitlist... I am still on the waitlist. I had applied by the priority deadline.

Are those that have been waitlisted getting an email or a call with that decision? What about those accepted?

I applied by the 12/15, was invited to do the video interview in January and have not heard a thing since. I have one red X next to the "WES Evaluation" (for students who have studied abroad), but was told by the admissions office that I do not have to complete this. However, with no response, I am wondering if the application does not forward through to the admissions committee if there are any red "X"s perhaps.

Anyone with a similar experience? Those that have been accepted/denied/waitlisted...did you have all green checks before their correspondence with you?

ksj89...if you had a video interview, then I would assume that your application was forwarded to the admissions committee. As noted above, I would also assume, that no news is good news. I was waitlisted and do have an outstanding course so I do have a red X.
