I am about to begin an accelerated BSN/MSN program. I'm wondering how much extracurriculars, such as community service and holding leadership positions, matter for my nursing profession. I'm planning on practicing as a NP after graduating and I'm wondering if having those extracurriculars matter in finding a job. I might also pursue a DNP in the future.
I'm still deciding on which school to attend. One school offered me a Fuld Fellowship which will provide me with leadership positions, look good on a resume and may make me stand out from my peers, but it's not my top choice school for many reasons. But is the fellowship worth it enough to come to this school?
I feel like in high school my extracurriculars to helped me get into a good college, and in college my extracurriculars helped me get into a good grad school and jobs, but once I'm already in grad school, do they help greatly in my career? Thanks in advance!
