ok guys i recently just made a post about how i was 2 points away from passing my anatomy class. long story short i did put a lot of effort into the class i just had a hard time with my teachers tests their very tricky and the final was very hard. i am in my universitys nursing program all i need is this a&pII class to for sure be in for the fall (i took this class at my local community college). my question is should i email my teacher pretty much begging her to give me the 2 points? i know its pathetic but i dont know what else to do right now cause there arent any classes i can take during the summer.
Should i email her?
what should i say? ( i dont want to sound like im truely begging)

It can't hurt to try. Good luck!

First and foremost I'm very sorry that you did not pass the class. AP is very challenging and I'm sure you studied hard.
Now for the tough love- begging your teacher for a passing grade is not the way to go. You failed by two points and I'm sorry for that, however you need to get up, dust yourself off, and prepare to take the class again in the fall.
In nursing school there is no rounding. If someone gets a 74.9999 instead of the passing 75 they will fail. When taking NCLEX you can't beg for a passing score either.
Besides you want a grade knowing that you earned it instead of begging for it. If you feel the questions are tricky you can also use your text book to back up your claim.
Keep your head up. I'm sure it is devastating now that you were so close. This too shall pass.
Good luck and keep us posted.
In addition, are there any other local community colleges where you can apply and do AP there that your school will except?
I did a prereq at another CC for the summer and it transferred to where I was taking my nursing school.
You may have a better chance at taking it else where during the summer than to beg your teacher for the grade.

Explain your situation and ask to maybe write a paper or something. A lot of times people don't get things simply because they did not ask. Offer to DO something instead of just begging for the points. Myabe you'll get them just for offering. I think asking is being proactive not pathetic. Good luck.
That is great advice however the OP need to realize that this does not work in nursing school nor on the NCLEX exam.
I'm sure many of my classmates would of loved to be able to write a 50 page paper if it meant they would get the tenth of a point they needed to pass.
The OP best bet is to challenge some of the questions by using her text as a source. Sometimes students can get extra points if the book says one thing and the teacher was looking for another answer. If that doesn't work the OP will just have to take it over again which is not a terrible thing.
Some people have to repeat classes but it shows that they have character and not willing to give up.

I would offer to do an extra credit project. If that doesn't work try and take it again ASAP while the info is still fresh.

I would email them, the worst they can say is no. I'm sure you understand that you can't ask for extra points on the NCLEX, and if it's just two points difference, it's not our place to tell you if you feel ready to move on from the class or if you need to retake it- it's the teacher and you....
Great advice !

I agree. Email the teacher and see what happens. Hopefully you have learned a valuable lesson about studying. Good luck!

I suggest calling the teacher instead of emailing, and definitely offering to do extra work as others suggest. No harm in trying. I do think a phone call shows a little more courage & initiative, and you most likely can't afford to wait for an email response since the teacher may post grades very soon to your transcript.

In nursing school there is no rounding.
While this might be true at some schools, it's not true of all nursing schools. My nursing instructors will round grades provided that you've attended classes and actively participated. I do agree that begging for points isn't the way to go, but if final grades haven't been turned in there may be some extra work the instructor might be willing to let you do. It's a long shot, sure.. but I don't think it would hurt to ask. Just don't beg! If you do have to repeat the class, don't wait till after the final to talk to the instructor about your grades if you're still struggling. Good luck!
