Oh for goodness' sake. ?
Don't you suspect just a little bit that if you were in actual trouble they might not send you an email--and one that begins with "asking for a friend," at that?
The email doesn't state anything about you, anything about any complaint, and doesn't direct you to do anything. There is no time frame given in which you are supposed to do this ("this" being "nothing"). The body of the message is addressed to "nurses" and clearly appears to be for informational purposes, assuming it is a legitimate (although weirdly worded) campaign to increase basic knowledge of options for those struggling.
Everything's okay.

You only waited 33 minutes before posting this...
Most likely it's because there's a small population that would have also received this email. It was also the middle of the day, when day shifters are working and night shifters may have been sleeping.
BONs collect email addresses. Occasionally, they send out emails that may be of interest to some of those nurses. If it doesn't apply to you, simply delete it. Many of the emails sent out by my state BON are irrelevant to my practice. Those that do apply to me get read. It appears to be a simple information blitz to reach out to those nurses who may have impairment issues in an attempt to help them overcome those issues before it results in patient harm or license disciplinary actions.
If the BON has received a report/complaint, they will reach out by certified letter, not an email. It's all about creating the paper trail- proof of notification, ensuring the information was received, etc.

Got a email saying
"Nurses - asking for a friend Did you know a nurse may avoid discipline against their license by self-reporting impairment?
Illinois law allows nurses to participate in care, counseling, and treatment for impairment if certain requirements are met, including that the licensee self-reports their impairment and/or certain adverse actions within sixty (60) days. For more information, please review the Department’s FAQS. Complete the Nursing Self-Report Form or call (to self report "
Im confused of why i am recieveing this . And why would it start of the subject saying nurses -asking for a friend . Is this just to inform me of the illinois nurse rules or what? Are they sending rhis this to all illinois nurses or are they only sending it to me saying im in trouble which i shouldnt be im not impaired and havent done anything wrong. What is this? Do dfpr usually send out notices like this? Im confused
