Got a email saying
"Nurses - asking for a friend Did you know a nurse may avoid discipline against their license by self-reporting impairment?
Illinois law allows nurses to participate in care, counseling, and treatment for impairment if certain requirements are met, including that the licensee self-reports their impairment and/or certain adverse actions within sixty (60) days. For more information, please review the Department’s FAQS. Complete the Nursing Self-Report Form or call (to self report "
Im confused of why i am recieveing this . And why would it start of the subject saying nurses -asking for a friend . Is this just to inform me of the illinois nurse rules or what? Are they sending rhis this to all illinois nurses or are they only sending it to me saying im in trouble which i shouldnt be im not impaired and havent done anything wrong. What is this? Do dfpr usually send out notices like this? Im confused

Do all unsolicited emails make you this agitated? I can’t tell you how many emails I get from Target or Barnes and Noble or other stores that don’t interest me. I just click delete and move on. Mountain vs molehill.
Doesn't the the fact that it just might help someone out there who is struggling and wasn’t thinking about getting help make it worth it?

I get emails from the board and various professional nursing associations that I am apart of about adult nursing issues - I’m not an adult nurse, but the emails don’t offend me. Your logic still doesn’t make sense. Sounds like you have some maturing to do.

I found it extremely offensive they were quite a bit insensitive when sending that out but I am happy a lot of nurses received that email and not just me
