Hello Nursing hopefules!
I will be applying for the El Centro Nursing Progam for spring 2018. I wanted to know if anyone else is working on their applications and how far along. Here to provide and receive support and help. I currently have 26 points without the HESI. I was only missing 3 points from the RN-BSN courses. I have taken the HESI 2 times before and there would always be one subject (grammar) that held me back from submitting my application. I did not take the HESI seriously and never studied for the test. This time is different. I have been studying my head off for 2 weeks now. Taking the HESI for the third and final time Feb 11. Hopefully I get to meet some future el Centro students here and start our journey together!
Good morning everyone! I've been following this post for a while now. I just wanted to give my two cents about why I think that the application decisions were delayed. As we all know, El Centro's Nursing Program is on Academic Probation because of the low NCLEX scores. I think that they were waiting on the new scores to come in, since another class is graduating, before making a final decision on the Fall 2018 applicants. Just a thought? Anyway, good luck to you all!
That thought crossed my mind, as well.
I had a dream last night that I received an acceptance e-mail. The dream felt so real! I called and texted my family and friends informing them of my acceptance. As you could imagine, it was pretty disappointing to wake up this morning to realize that it was all a dream and there was no acceptance e-mail in my inbox. LOL!
Anyways, Happy Monday! Again, good luck, Everyone!
I had no idea that El Centro was on academic probation for low NCLEX scores. If I'm paying so much money to prepare for that exam, I expect the school to put in their part. This is scaring me. Failing the NCLEX could cost a lot of money. Does anyone know how many semesters they've been on probation for now?
It was on the El Centro website where I saw that they would be taking applications until Oct 5th. It said that the people who applied on time(in July) would receive their letters by Oct. 15 and that the ones that applied on Oct. 5th would know by the end of Oct and that if there was extra students who applied late with good points that they would be automatically accepted into the Fall of 2018. Since none of us ever received anything I have a feeling that now they decided to just send out the EMAILS all at one time no matter when you applied. The probation thing could also be a reason, who knows though.. I just want to find out already
I applied with 33 pts and do not feel confident but I took some more courses over the summer and I'm currently enrolled so I should apply next time with 38 pts. Wrong! While waiting for this email I looked up the requirements for the next application class and they took the 2 HPRS classes away and replaced them with pharm and patho. So now if I don't get in, I have to take even more classes. And they changed from Sentry to Castlebranch...which means more money. Uhhhh! So annoyed right now! I want my email so I can make plans one way or the other.
