El Centro Spring 2018 Nursing Program Hopefules

Published

Hello Nursing hopefules!

I will be applying for the El Centro Nursing Progam for spring 2018. I wanted to know if anyone else is working on their applications and how far along. Here to provide and receive support and help. I currently have 26 points without the HESI. I was only missing 3 points from the RN-BSN courses. I have taken the HESI 2 times before and there would always be one subject (grammar) that held me back from submitting my application. I did not take the HESI seriously and never studied for the test. This time is different. I have been studying my head off for 2 weeks now. Taking the HESI for the third and final time Feb 11. Hopefully I get to meet some future el Centro students here and start our journey together!

Specializes in Intensive Care Unit, Critical Care.

I think 33 is a decent amount. I'm sure the cut off will be around 30. I'm hoping that not a lot of people passed the HESI with 80+, and that will cut back a lot of competition. (evil laugh) ;)

They've changed the requirements so many times. I've been trying to apply for a couple of years and they'll change the courses or vaccine requirements. It's very frustrating and I'm a little upset that they extended the deadline..very unfair to those of us who did what we were asked in the allotted time.

I totally agree Knfry. It does suck that we busted our butts to make the original deadline, only for them to extend it. I submitted mine back in June/July. I'm sure that they had more than enough applicants at the original cutoff; but we are only guests in THEIR program. So, we have to put on our happy face and hope for the best.

I agree, I busted my butt to get everything in by the deadline only to find out 4 months later they extended the deadline... I just want to find out already because the suspense is killing me. I wish I would have known they extended it because one of my friends would have been able to submit her application.

I think its super unfair, I had my things ready to go as soon as application opened, which by the way is not easy for a mom of three. If you make guidelines and rules then you stick to them.period.

If you guys don't mind, could you share how many points yall applied with.

I applied with 46, My GPA for those prerequisites are a 3.6

My Hesi scores:

Anatomy-100%

Math-96%

English (consecutive score)-92%

I applied with 38 points.

A&P- 90ish

Math-98

English (composite)- 94

Omg that's worrisome... I feel that that's unfair. I worked so hard to get everything done by the dead line. If they still have spots left after accepting whoever they will by the deadline hat means their allocation process is unfair. It means they actually do have a cut off. If that's the case everyone who applied before July 15 should be accepted.

It seems this semester many schools extended their deadline. I applied the Mountain View, and it also extended the deadline more 4 days. But this school gave the result much faster than El Centro. I just received its email for interviewing today. Thank god! It makes me less anxious while waiting letter from El Centro. I applied El Centro with 44 points. My hesi scores: A&P: 100, English 86, and math 98

Hi Linhkat, I also applied for the nursing program at Mountain View. I am so in-the-air as to choosing which program I want to attend. Which school is your top choice? I like that El Centro is so close to where I work but I love that Mountain View has a great NCLEX pass rate. I literally made a list of pros and cons for both schools last night and they both come up pretty even.

Can we just start calling the school excessively? This is becoming ridiculous
