Hello Nursing hopefules!
I will be applying for the El Centro Nursing Progam for spring 2018. I wanted to know if anyone else is working on their applications and how far along. Here to provide and receive support and help. I currently have 26 points without the HESI. I was only missing 3 points from the RN-BSN courses. I have taken the HESI 2 times before and there would always be one subject (grammar) that held me back from submitting my application. I did not take the HESI seriously and never studied for the test. This time is different. I have been studying my head off for 2 weeks now. Taking the HESI for the third and final time Feb 11. Hopefully I get to meet some future el Centro students here and start our journey together!
Hello, my name is Gabbii.
I also wished to have known about this thread sooner! I literally just found this about an hour ago and skimmed through everyone's comments already lol
I have been keeping myself busy to not think about the notification deadline, and I did receive the email on October 16th at 11am about the delay in the letter send outs.
I took the HESI three times, and the last one totaled:
Reading Comp 82%
Grammar 82%
Vocabulary 80%
A&P 92%
Math 96%
My last attempt was on May 2nd which was also the day I dropped off my packet in their box.
I took all supporting classes, except Chemistry (because I have been crossing my fingers for the program to remove it lol) and currently taking Microbiology this semester. My current GPA is 3.3 and I believe I ranked at 47 out of the 50 points as I did my literature classes.
I agree with those that mentioned how unfair it felt to be prepared and filing our applications right away just so that the deadline would be extended, however I would like to also look at the bright side and think that the program's current low test score situation is asking for the best of applicants to assure that it won't get suspended - but they should at least have informed us about the situation rather than learning from everyone else when we are trying so hard to stay in this difficult campus.
Lastly, we are only 3 days away from this new deadline, I wish everyone the best;
GJ(:
I applied for the LVN-RN 2018 program and received my acceptance letter a little over a week ago. I am still taking classes towards my BSN and will take A&P 2 during the program. I am not sure there were a lot of applicants because the application period was also extended for the LVN-RN program. So hopefully many of you are in simply because of that! Good Luck. Blessings!
