  1. I applied for the LVN-RN 2018 program and received my acceptance letter a little over a week ago. I am still taking classes towards my BSN and will take A&P 2 during the program. I am not sure there were a lot of applicants because the application period was also extended for the LVN-RN program. So hopefully many of you are in simply because of that! Good Luck. Blessings!
  2. The compass was a lot easier that I thought it was going to be. I mean way easier, I almost had over 90's in both. If you study the practice Compass test they provide you will be very well prepared! I was so nervous. I hardly studied and did well on the test. Good luck to you. :)
  3. I am also going to take the compass this week for the LVN program and I also live in Mansfield. :) Weird I haven't seen too many posts on this website about the upcoming semester!
  4. Wow, this is so encouraging. I didn't realize the points did not necessarily have to be that high. I applied in 2013 and didn't get in but with 9 points (at least) I know I can get in next year! Thanks guys.
  5. To lower the amount of call lights and promote a quieter unit we took these clocks out of the patient rooms, No more calls for scheduled pain meds. Genius!
  6. I have been at my position a month noe. Its great! I'm very tired but I enjoy the work that I do. : )
  7. I am a brand new pct, no experience. I am orienting on a Med surg floor. I am really enjoying it and learning a lot. I was very nervous before I started but now I'm glad I made a great decision. Feel free to ask questions. I'm still getting used to the 12 hr shift. I'm also on the search for a great shoe insole my feet were killing me my first week!
  8. Oh and the first thing I did when I went home was take a bath and then noticed my feet were killing me! Haha. Now onto the hunt for the perfect shoe.
  9. I started my first day as a Pct! I love it. It was extremely busy. One patient went out two came in. Lol. I had a few laughs too. I'm learning a lot and enjoy helping the patients. : )
  10. Nice, thanks. I have an idea now what to expect. : )
  11. Wow, thanks! I will make sure to learn the strengths of my coworkers. I'm hoping to finish up prerequisite courses and go to nursing school. So this is great that you have done this yourself and confirms I made a good choice. Thank you!
  12. What helps you manage your time? I'm hoping to get the hang of it fairly quickly. I'm sure I will have lots of opportunity to learn. : )
  13. I'm in Texas. I worked in a hospital first as a food service worker left to work as a secretary at another hospital then came back as a pct with no experience. Surprisingly they hired me!
  14. Thanks for your replies I will keep this information in mind!
  15. Thanks! It's going to be a new experience for me.
