Hello Nursing hopefules!
I will be applying for the El Centro Nursing Progam for spring 2018. I wanted to know if anyone else is working on their applications and how far along. Here to provide and receive support and help. I currently have 26 points without the HESI. I was only missing 3 points from the RN-BSN courses. I have taken the HESI 2 times before and there would always be one subject (grammar) that held me back from submitting my application. I did not take the HESI seriously and never studied for the test. This time is different. I have been studying my head off for 2 weeks now. Taking the HESI for the third and final time Feb 11. Hopefully I get to meet some future el Centro students here and start our journey together!
Hi Linhkat, I also applied for the nursing program at Mountain View. I am so in-the-air as to choosing which program I want to attend. Which school is your top choice? I like that El Centro is so close to where I work but I love that Mountain View has a great NCLEX pass rate. I literally made a list of pros and cons for both schools last night and they both come up pretty even.
I personally prefer El Centro because the Mountain View has just opened nursing program recently (since 2013 - i think so). Number of RN test takers in Mountain View are around 20-35 while El Centro are 200-300. I think that's why the percentage pass of El Centro is low and on probation. But it seems El Centro more famous about nursing program than MVC. Anyways, I still confuse to choose which school to study. I scheduled the interview of MCV on November 7th. Now just wait the notification from El Centro, and I gonna think about choice until the interview day
I wanted to apply to MVC but didn't because I felt that I wouldn't have high enough points there but I have 2 friends in the program and they really like it. I also like that they have good scores and are a smaller group. I took most of my courses there and really liked the school in general. I've only taken one class at El Centro and hated the whole transportation part and having to pay for parking if I drove..but thats just me because Im not used to that.. does everybody usually take the Dart? Or how do you guys get around?
If I don't get into ECC I will most likely apply to MVC next semester since I'm more familiar with it..and from what I've heard it's a good nursing program also!
