El Centro Spring 2018 Nursing Program Hopefules

Published

Hello Nursing hopefules!

I will be applying for the El Centro Nursing Progam for spring 2018. I wanted to know if anyone else is working on their applications and how far along. Here to provide and receive support and help. I currently have 26 points without the HESI. I was only missing 3 points from the RN-BSN courses. I have taken the HESI 2 times before and there would always be one subject (grammar) that held me back from submitting my application. I did not take the HESI seriously and never studied for the test. This time is different. I have been studying my head off for 2 weeks now. Taking the HESI for the third and final time Feb 11. Hopefully I get to meet some future el Centro students here and start our journey together!

I'm very excited for all of us! Wishing great success upon us all :D

How many points are you guys applying with? I am applying for Fall 2018 with about 32 points. Also on my HESI test I got a 92 on math, 88 on Anatomy and a combined score of 84.67 on English. Do you know if I retake the HESI and let's say fail it would that score take over my existing HESI that I passed

Yes that score would replace your existing score

I applied for the Spring 2018 selection with 46 points.

Hesi: Anatomy-100

Math-96

English (combine score)-93

I read a thread on here from a few years ago, and I think the cut off was roughly 32 points, but I am sure it varys upon application period. I would retake your hesi, see if you can pull all A's, or take some of the HPRS courses, that maube the fastest easiest way to up your point count

Yea I have already taken the HPRS classes. I'm just worried that if I take the HESI again I will fail. I read somewhere that either it was Fall 2017 or Spring 2017 that people got in with 30 points but of course it just determines on how many people applied and or if they made any mistakes on their application.

I had to take the hesi four times lol so I do understand :) You should apply, you may get in :)

They told me that they take the hesi report sheet that you submit with your highest score. That's what I did. & about the points I think that it just depends on the points people apply with each semester because I knew a guy who got in last spring with 29 points!

& They extended this Spring 2018 deadline to Oct. 5th.. So maybe it was because not many people applied.. who knows but I'm just really anxious to know if I got in or not! í ½í¸“í ½í¹„

You mean they extended it to October 31st :) and yes, I'm extremely flippin anxious also!! I'm so ready to just know lol

Yes, you're right. I know someone who got in with 29 points last semester as well. They told me only 200 people applied. I didn't know they extended the deadline. I literally drove all the way to Baylor to take my test on July 14th to get a better score.

I am thinking so few applied because they changed the vaccination policy to needing all vaccines prior to applying.

I personally wouldnt bank on only expecting 200 people to apply. The advisor at El Centro that typically 500 apply per semester, and they take the top 50 to 60, and any remaining spots not filled at Northlake maybe filled with additional applicants. I may just be overly worried, you may be just fine :)

Bottom line: None of us have anything to lose, apply away! We can always apply next semester if we dont get in :)

Same I drove all the way to Van Alstyne, TX! Yeah, my friend was going to apply and they told her she could still apply until Oct. 5th.

I'm so anxious to find out already!
