El Centro/Methodist Dallas Fall 2014

U.S.A. Texas

I've created this new thread for those applying to the Methodist Nursing Program linked with El Centro. This program is for those that are employed, have immediate family members employed, and volunteers that have reached a certain amount of hours at a Methodist hospital. They currently are only accepting 10 people per semester.

I'm sure you will get in with those points. Although, I totally agree it is always worth having a back up plan just in case. Unfortunately, I didn't even qualify for an interview so I'm still a little undecided about which program I want to apply too. It just seems so hard to get in with only 10 been accepted ;/

Trust me I know it all too well. It is heartbreaking. This is my third time applying. I am a full time employee there and once was also a volunteer. It use to be 20 pts and went to 40 pretty quick. The program is very competitive but don't lose hope. There are so many options out there and where the compassion lies in you, one day someone will see it and open up doors for you. Believe me, I been through this for years and never given up. Why don't you apply to the traditional elcentro for spring 15?

Stacy! She told me she really liked you as well :) She told me she found her study buddy! My email is [email protected] Thanks for your help.

just emailed you! let me know if you need anything further! i included my phone number :)

I know. I'm not giving up. I have been working to hard to get to where I'm at now, I'm also a full time employee at Methodist as well as a full time student and it would be crazy for me to give up at this point. I will like to apply for the traditional El Centro program, but I would love to be a part of the Methodist nursing team. After all, it is a great opportunity.

Thank you so much! :)

Stacy,

It was so nice meeting you on Tuesday!( I was the last person to interview) You have an amazing personality! You really did help me to relax somewhat. I just wanted to jump online to say thank you. Take care and good luck.

If you get into the regular el centro, check out tuition reimbursement with hr and see the guidelines if any for it. There are way too many options for you because you have already became a full time employee. You will get there...

To prepare for the outcome I have scheduled for retaking of the hesi exam in two weeks so I could make the July 15th deadline for traditional El Centro program. I also have an appointment to go tour UTD campus this coming Monday with my husband. Hopefully I get my results by then...:-)

Sounds like a good plan. I'm sure you guys will get in and yes I will more than likely apply to both programs next month just to increase my chances. Luckily, as you mention we do get tuition reimbursement so there are other options available. However, Methodist only covers up to $5500 a year. Therefore, it would be a whole nicer to be able to get in with Methodist's nursing program because they do offer free tuition and free books.

Awww! Thank you!! Let us know right when you hear something back! Good luck!

I have been reading this board but finally got around to making an account so I can post! Has anyone gotten their acceptance call today?! I just got mine. I am so excited to meeting you all this fall! My interview was at 1050, not sure who all I saw there.

I did!! I'm in!! Wahoo!!

I needed more BSN points. It's a no go for me. However, I was accepted to MVC and they are only 7 min. from my house! Sweet! lol! I won't reapply for 2015 with Methodist. I wish you all so much good luck in the program!!! Rock it out!!!! Xoxoxo!!!
