I've created this new thread for those applying to the Methodist Nursing Program linked with El Centro. This program is for those that are employed, have immediate family members employed, and volunteers that have reached a certain amount of hours at a Methodist hospital. They currently are only accepting 10 people per semester.
Anyone else planning on applying? I'm a volunteer and all I need to do is take my Hesi, which I'm taking on January 17th. I will have 28 points before I take my Hesi, so I am hopeful to make a good score!! Anyone have any advice or tips on the Hesi?

Wow!!! 28 points before HESI is pretty good. I'm sure you will get in with no problems. I'm applying for the program and will take HESI in January so, I'm also hoping to get a good score. I should have between 28-32 points. Although, it's a little scary since they are only accepting 10 students now :/
Ugh I know! It's so nerve wrecking! What date are you taking the Hesi? Mines January 17th.
I'm taking HESI on January 11th, but I'm so nervous about it, since it's my first time taking it I have no idea on what to expect. What have you been studying for HESI?
Although, I'm sure you're pretty much in with 28 points before HESI you have a great chance of getting accepted :)
I sure hope so! I've been studying the hesi study guide, it's like the 3rd edition I think... the most updated. And I'm actually in HPRS 1204 right now and the medical terminology book that we have to read goes over each individual system in detail which has been really really really helpful for the A&P portion. I'm trying search quizlet's as well for the math and English portions. I've never taken it either so we're in the same boat! I signed up for a second test time though in February just in case I want/need to re take it! Do you work at the hospital or are you a volunteer?
That's exactly the same book I have been using and I have also looked over quizlet and have done few practice exams online as well. I think I will copy your idea and sign up to retake HESI just in case I have to retake it. Lol! By the way I'm a employee at Methodist Richardson. I was a little upset when I heard they have cut off the program by half :/ such a big disappointment.
Oh nice! I live right next to Methodist Richardson! I was super disappointed too but I'm going to take the gamble and try! Worse that can happen is I'm pushed back 6 months from starting! The Stedman's medical terminology book is good too! I will need to brush up on my math, too. From what I've read though the test is high school/ college freshman level and that's it's pretty easy. I hope they're right!
I believe its worth trying like you said, worse thing that can happen is taking more classes for another semester to get more points. Plus since they have cut their program in half maybe some people will get discouraged. The less people applying the better the chances. You just never know.
Do you know any other people from Methodist Richardson who are applying for the Fall?
No, do you? I wonder how many people apply for the program on average.
