El Centro/Methodist Dallas Fall 2014

U.S.A. Texas

I've created this new thread for those applying to the Methodist Nursing Program linked with El Centro. This program is for those that are employed, have immediate family members employed, and volunteers that have reached a certain amount of hours at a Methodist hospital. They currently are only accepting 10 people per semester.

Do you know if you have to attend an info session to apply. I work at MCMC and am planning on applying for the fall.. I only have 34 points but I don't really plan on getting since they are only accepting 10.. But I wish you all the best!!

Yes, you have to attend information session before you Apply. 34 points it's actually pretty good, I would still apply if I was you. Are you applying to any other programs?

Hello there!

I am also applying to the Methodist program for Fall of 2014 with 31 points at the moment. I am planning to take my HESI one more time before submitting my application to see if I can get a few more points. Last semester the highest applicant was with a 34 so sdr0123 you are golden to get in! I was also at the information session on January 29th and hopefully we all get in! :) Anyone applying to regular El centro this time along with Methodist?

No, unfortunately I won't have micro completed until the end of this semester, so I will miss the deadline this month. Although, I was a little upset when I found out that we can't no longer apply to both programs after this semester. What a bummer! Ohh well, I guess my only option will be just to keep trying for the Methodist program. I'm really excited applications are due in 3 months. :)

I'm only applying for the Methodist program this time around. I'm retaking my Hesi this Saturday to hopefully get 1 or 2 extra points! Nela87 with 31 points I feel like you will for sure get accepted to the El Centro program.. I think you can only apply for one or the other though??

I am so excited too!! 3 months is going to fly by! I could technically turn my application in now but I am too nervous! lol

Wish you the best of luck on HESI this Saturday. Although, you can pretty much say you're in since you have 34 points already ;) I can't wait until I'm done with this classes so that I can hurry up and submit my application as well. Let me know how it goes... on another note you're right we can only apply to one program at a time. I'm still a little upset about that, but I will give it my best. If not, I will be re applying for Spring with more points. lol!

Actually with the new point system (they changed it from 42 to 40 max) and changed a few of the categories, I only have 32 points! I'm not a happy camper!! Hopefully I get a few extra points from the Hesi tomorrow! You know that you can still apply for this Fall if you are currently enrolled in classes this semester? That's what I'm doing!

Right now I'm at 26 points and that's including the classes that I'm taking this semester. Although, I wonder if we would get any extra points for humanities since it's no longer on the application. If so, then I will be at 27, but I'm really hoping to gain at least 3 or 4 points when I retake HESI so that I can apply with 29 or 30. I don't know, either way, I guess is still worth the try since they said they also look at how well you do on your interview. Good luck tomorrow! I'm sure you will do well.

I agree! It's always worth a try! Well I raised my overall score a little bit and gained one extra point from retaking the Hesi yesterday. So now I have 33 points. That will have to do! Makes me incredibly nervous though!

I'm sure you will get in with no problem :)

So have any of yall talked to others and know how many people are applying? I know of a few, but i'm curious!

Not really, the only one I know is my sister, she is somewhere between 28-30 pts. How many other people do you know of? I'm also dying to know! I wish there was a way to track how many people will apply? but no one else likes to post info on this website :/
